I didn't have the front diff, cv's or shaft in (took out for rebuild) (yes I got better mpg) Rear shaft snapped at the U joint, Had bad pinion bearings and vibration for 6k miles before it broke. (ride till it die) fortunately my case stayed intact but cracked it clean through. I am in the process of rebuilding front diff, front shaft, front ifs, new power steering system, rear main seal, trans service and new seals, new rear shaft, rebuilding rear axle, new leaf springs wit helpers, and new exhaust as we speak I was lucky to find a matching donor year and make with a locked up Hemi. Hit me up if you need any gen 3 stuff I have everything off the donor minus the cab shell and frame (scrap run) also minus what I just said I took but I have all my old stuff. plus a manual shift front diff with 3.92 gears and a 96 9/14 rear with 3.55 gears and drum brakes.

@@LHHomestead anything past 2nd gear and it either is slipping so bad it's as if in neutral if your fluttering the fuel. Then once climbed into high rpms you can feel it engaged as if you are redlined in 1st. First I need to find a way to take out almost 2 quarts of fluid obviously. But it is throwing a code related to a sensor or the solenoid I can't remember off the top of my head. I'll let you know in just a bit which specifically. I'm praying it's not mechanical because I am in a desperate position in more ways then fingers to count. Iv got $75 to my name and lost my job the same week I was ordered to begin child support. My daughters are absolutely everything to me. Iv got two weeks to get a job and take a loss on my firebird that also gave up on me a couple months ago as well. I'm planning to try everything free I can in hopes of regaining at least 3rd. If not I'm preparing to drive to work and sleep in it somewhere near. And only go all the way home on the weekend until I can make something happen. Im mechanically inclined far more than the average person. I grew up poor and that's been one of my biggest blessings in disguise. But I'm not transmission specialist and only have a limited knowledge of how they function. Let's assume 3-4 need rebuilt. Is that simply just replacing wearables such in your average rebuild kit? Or the metal shafts, gears, bearings etc. Iv only ever done new replacement swaps and mostly all were mechanical standards and didn't have multiple personality disorder from having 4 brains telling it what to do. Ah the good old days when things were simpler, mechanical and dumb. Believe it or not I'm not even 30 but much preferred things then.

My 2006 Ram 3500 seems to have glitchy electrical system, where turning the truck off then back on often will clear up the problem. So when you reseat the plug, you turn the truck off right? Or the radio or seat heaters will be goofy, turn the truck off then back on will reboot the computer and all will be well in the 2006 Dodge truck world. It works for me, so before you go twisting some bolts give this a shot. Waking up the ghost in the machine.

I sometimes get the issue where my heater/AC fan will not turn on, and usually the fix is to turn the vehicle off then back on. I wonder if it could be a grounding issue. I notice on my battery terminals I cannot get them tight. When I have them fully clamped I can still pull the ground terminal off by hand (if that makes sense) I know how a simple thing like a bad ground can cause all kinds of issues with the electrical system.

Man, I hate that for you so much! That has to be just a huge kick in the gut. I really hope you can get this fixed quickly and it doesn't cost you too much. I do want to stress something though. You lifted the whole front end of the tractor in the air on extended cylinder arms. You then said that it was your fault, but that they don't make them like they used to, which is neither here nor there in this situation. Putting all that weight on fully extended loader cylinder arms will do this on any tractor, and even some heavier machinery. I think the key takeaway here is that we as tractor owners need to understand that tractors may be huge and heavy, but they are not invincible, no mater what brand is painted on the side, and no matter when they were made. We cannot use them like they are 40 ton dozers or excavator, which still have their own limits. Go check out Dirt Perfect's channel and see all the ways they break and bend their million dollar heavy equipment. You can push your equipment, farmers always have, but you have to take responsibility for that, and then fix it and move on. I know you've probably learned a lot from this experience, so I'm only saying all this because this video seems to suggest the quality of the TYM 5520 may need to take some of the blame here when that is completely untrue. I really do hope you can get this fixed and get back to work.
@LHHomestead
@LHHomestead 4 ай бұрын
I agree, the more I watch the video the more I realize that the grapple extended puts extra leverage on the cylinders. When I would back drag with my 0ld International Harvester it was just with the bucket and there was no where near the leverage on the cylinders. Thanks for sharing,,, but like you said this is not the tractors fault. That grapple is not intended to be used like that. Look how far in front of the tractor it was when bac dragging, that a really big lever taking all that downforce and transmitting it back up to the cylinders. Grapples arent for dirt-work.
