Just a quick question! How do you know when to release them? After their tails are gone - but then how long after that? I'm not sure when they are considered frogs from froglets. Mine are just starting to get their back legs and there are probably a half dozen that might have arms soon but not yet. Thank you for the videos on this! It's been fun rescuing them from the depleted puddle in the driveway.
@GregsWildlife3 ай бұрын
There's no set rules really. I usually keep them longer than I need to just because I'm making videos on them. I'd say that after their tails are gone and they've fed a couple of times, you can release them any time.

Just found your wonderful videos. Due to the lack of frog spawn this year 2024 we are thinking of having a go at raising them in tanks by following your instructions next year. Once they turn into frogs and go into the other tank do you change the soil and water in there at all? How long are they in the second tank for? Thank you
@GregsWildlife4 ай бұрын
The little water dishes I do change and clean regularly. The substrate I don't change much. I do what's called a spot clean, so I'll remove dirty spots and replace with fresh substrate if needed. I will occasionally put in fresh moss if the old stuff looks a bit past it. I usually keep them until around the beginning of July, but they can be released much earlier than that. I only really keep them for that long to make more videos about them. Hope that helps!
