@faithbooks79069 күн бұрын
@@ChrisMusante I am not familiar with that. I honestly don’t follow the Pope that closely. There is more misinformation than accuracy out in social media land. The church is 2000 years old and moves at a glacial speed with many missteps (seemingly) on the way. But in the end, time shows, it seems to have prevailed as a good protector of the deposit of faith handed down through the ages. Also this is not an apologetics channel. I am a booktube channel. Hi! I just found your channel. I'm reading my way through Dickens for the first time and in chronological order. I've only read up to The Old Curiosity Shop, then picked up Christmas Carol and a few of his other short Christmas stories and later this month will resume with Barnaby Rudge. Of the early books, Nicholas Nickleby is my favorite. The mother wasn't my favorite character by any means, but they kept most of the bad experiences away from her. I'm wondering if reading drawn out, as the serialized versions were, if you'd still have the same criticisms. I've been thinking about trying it and see what that feels like. I haven't read that Fitzgerald book, but I have a couple others and I did not like them; too much infidelity for my liking. I've only been reading classics for a year, I must be missing something. I am a convert and love hearing your Catholic content. Last year I read Peter Lombar's The Sentences book 1. This year I will be reading book 2. This one is on creation. My husband says it is an easier go than the first first was on the Trinity and I went in knowing and believing in it and struggled reading it, kept going round and round, I almost was lost. It was too detailed. Have you read either yet?
@faithbooks790618 күн бұрын
@@Fernie4243 I would like to read a Dickens as it was serialized. That would be a neat experiment. The thing about Dickens is even if I have some criticism he’s still great! I think I like novels that have tortured souls getting a glimpse of redemption. F Scott Fitzgerald strikes me as being in that camp for the most part. I have not read Peter Lombard but would love to eventually!

Six Grandchildren~! Wow! Congratulations. That's so interesting that you read quicker on kindle than with the physical book. Why do you think that is? The Great Bridge is such an intense book.
