Thanks for this. I really enjoyed your video. I run a theology group in the UK and we were recently talking about TS Eliot's Journey of the Magi which includes a reference to a white horse galloping away. Chesterton's book makes complete sense of this!

You mentioned you were reading Paradise Lost. I started it a while back and couldn't get into it until the Hardcore Literature group mentioned reading along with the audio book. I LOVE IT! My favorite book of 2024 and I read 60.

@@lisacannon9229 I am reading along with the audio book. It does help! My son read Paradise Lost last month and he asked me to read it too so we are having discussions. But I am only in Book 2 so far.

Ooh! We just went to Turkey, Greece, and Rome on a 3week Footsteps of Paul tour. Good suggestions! The epistles have come alive! And Acts and Revelation. Went to the cities of the 7 churches. Thanks Faith!

I will get back to the Theology Bookclub.. I agree, we need to prioritize Jesus over political opinions!!

I had heard you review these most of these books but it was good to hear your summary of the whole year’s reading. and how the books connected. A great list. I loved In this house of Brede. I’m interested in Frost in May although it sounds a bit grim for me.

I am interested in your Theology Book Club. I was thinking of doing separate videos of my Christian reads this year.

You did have a great reading year! 👏🏻 📚 I'm terrible with Discord, but this seems like the perfect way to enhance my spiritual life, so I just joined the Book Club! 🤓

Happy i came across your channel . I took that same bible study class at my parish with the great adventure Revelation book. I enjoy watching N.T wrights channel . I love scott hahn books as well and his one-time student Brant Pitres (My favorite) Ratzingers books are a must. I purchased jhn book on the development of doctrine. I struggled with it so gave up. Perhaps i can find one with a commentary attached . Lol

@@noralg3081 I am happy you came across the channel too! I read the first of Newman’s Development of Doctrine in a theology class, so I had some handholding. I think there are youtube videos out there that can help. I am hoping so! I have heard of Brant Pitre but I am not sure if I have read anything by him.

I just came across your channel and subscribed. I had no idea there was a Catholic Theology Book Club online, but I signed up right away. I’m not at all familiar with the Discord app, but I downloaded it and hopefully accepted the invite to the book club hoping I did it correctly. When does the book club begin? Thank you. Linda Hardesty
@faithbooks79062 күн бұрын
@@craftoncue it is actually ecumenical, so we have other denominations participating, though I myself am definitely Catholic. Our first book is The Question of Canon by Michael Kruger who is a Reformed theologian. If you click in the Discord link you should be able to join. The club focuses on the common ground of all stripes of Christians.

@ thanks so much. I was able to download the app and sign u. I will get the book for my Kindle and begin to read it after I finish my current read, “Jacinta, The Flower of Fatima” by Humberto Sousa Medeiros. Linda

Are you a Catholic Worker?? I really love the insights of Peter 3:3 Maurin. Ever tried the Trad Mass. very beautiful. Wish I was. Closer to a Benedictine Monastery. Would love to be an Oblate.

Do you like Flannery O’Connor? I discovered her later in life.
@faithbooks79063 күн бұрын
@@hanichay1163 I wish I did! So many people really admire her work but to be honest, I find her rather too brutal. But I have only read her short stories. Christy Luis who is in this group, has hosted reading events to read Flannery O’Connor.
