after i change the bpm and grid to my preference can i lock it , so if i scan that file to analyze for bpm etc it do not go back to factory settings bpm and grid Virtual dj 2023

@@slysithejuicegy with controllers is top, the only thing that I did not try is timecode, so for that I cant say. But I have tried the same 2 songs with vdj and serato. Vdj uses 1gb ram and 1% processor. Serato uses 3gb ram and 20% processor. That tells evrything. All tested without stems.

Great video - I'm a long time VDJ user, I have to disagree with Stems though - they are the best thing about VDJ!! And I can't DJ with Quantise on, maybe that's just me!!

@@timmyg07 I am glad that you liked it. But you did not listen what I was saying. 1st, yes vdj stems are awesome compared to other softwares. But lets be honest even the best in the bussiness have nothing close to Traktor stems previous workflow with stems files. Here I share my oppinion. Again every stems on the planet is still not perfect, thats why I can live without them. I remember my time with 1210 technics, how we live without hotcues? Hip hop DJs may need stems but for me it is more problem than solution yet, thats the botom line. I hope this clears the confusion!

I been using VDJ for a long time. I love them. I DJ with the pro version. It’s a really good software. Getting in contact with them is kinda hard. I think Algorithms DJpro is on the same level with VDJ or a lil better. In my opinion VDJ is way better than Serato n rekordbox

This is a pretty bold claim and might only be true for some hobby/bedroom Dj's, but I never saw anyone using this live in an club environment or on a festival stage, just to be honest. And to just try it with my hardware, I would have to pay for the Pro version as the free doesn't support it.

The broadcasting option is priceless. As far as I know, no other DJ software has this. You have to use another program to broadcast to Shoutcast, VDJ has it built right in.

Got my unit and the power delivery on my unit was abysmal. Like bad. It sounded bad. Noise floor, distortion in highs.. Feedback when off. Like honestly I don't understand how a device with such markup can even have these design flaws to begin with beyond the fact that I might have gotten unlucky.... Funny thing is if they cared enough to put a ground pin maybe that could have gone away with like half of the issues I mentioned... or maybe not. Regardless very disappointed...

To me all of those pioneer advantages are not real. To me denon looks better and i dont see pioneer players more robust. The recordbox software is bad as well. Denon can import playlists of traktor and other software as well

@@electronicbox6990 i would go for denon all the time. I used pioneer, i cant stand them. I dont understand why i should use 2 so big clunky players to play two.tracks. its a thing of the past. I used to do what big players do with my little traktor x1 , with one hand and ultra fast. I wish the denon would be even smaller with the same functionality and the same screen. Its ridiculous pioneer and others still try to emulate a big and unreasonablen turntable layout. In the past they had tondo it this way but not in 2024! I want both players at the fingertips of one hand. Mixer in the middle, player on rhe right. Thats the best way to work and everything djs need. And yes i am a working pro since 1999. I have seen them all.

Virtual DJ was nothing until they hired their lead developer, Mr Gwen Roelants, around 15-20 years ago. He had his own DJ software back then called DJ Decks - which I still use today with no controller... just straight from the laptop. I have my own way of doing things and I have been able to make it make the software work for me - it just looks old 😄. The only thing is my scratching technique with the mouse needs to be on point to sound right. I probably tried Virtual DJ almost a decade ago and stuck with DJ Decks because it's more flexible for me. I may give it another try when I get time to fool around with it. This video helped push me in that direction. If you want to hear mixing without a controller, I have the audio for some mixes posted, including one I did for today on an internet radio station. It takes a lot of practice to get it down... and I am old enough to have mixed with vinyl back in the 80s - which helped me with the basics.

Quantized loops still jump the track to match the beat grid, right? I don't quantize because VDJ is not always 100% accurate with the beat grid positions. Instead, I rely on my ears to push the loop button at the right time and then follow up with the jog wheel to quickly adjust any timing issues. Also, I'm gonna have to disagree with you about stems. Learn how to use them to your advantage or fall behind IMHO. Although I disagree with a few of these suggestions, what's great about VDJ is that there are so many options that every DJ can tweak to give a 100% personalized setup. I recently tried djay Pro and was disappointed in how many of these options are missing in that app. Love their fluid beatgrid though...

I was a DJ in 90s with Technics and vinyl, today it is a piece of cake to work. I am not interested in stems. Maybe old style scratching on acapella. This is somthing else.

I dont like them, not vdj ones, I dont like them in general. If I had to play rap, then ofcourse, but I play only house music, so dont convinst me, I have my own oppinion.

Hi. After i move the created ACTIVE.LST on sd card in the same location with SERIAL.LST, when I put the sd card in my camera and press for import activation it said NO ACTIVATION CODE. Do you have any ideea what could be wrong? Thank you!

I think the same issue happened to me. I installed Rekordbox 7 first. The switched to trial. After that I bought FLX4, then registered it. FLX4 plugged in, opened Rekordbox but no hardware unlock, still in trial mode. Tried so many things like opening other accounts, reregistering from different countries/zones. No way. Then suıddenly I tried plugging in and out USB-C connection and what boom, FREE Plus licence. Hardware unlocked. But it was so frustrirating..

The reason u are getting 1.0 on ur stems is most likely cause of the laptop ur using , which don't hv a designated GPU. The stems are processed on the GPU and so u would either need a mid tier gaming laptop or an m1/ m2/ m3 Mac to use this feature live. Stem 2.0 are the cleanest on the market. I agree with most of ur points especially with what u said about resources, speed and integration.

@@kudamah I speak in general, if you listen carefully I said that vdj stems are on top level. However if stems not working like playing mp3 on Winamp, then they are no good. If they cant run on any computer, they are no good. I am runing I7 with 32 gigs of ram and nvidia 1070ti by the way.

@@electronicbox6990I get u're generalizing but I can't agree 'they're no good' because my machine isn't fully equipped to handle the workload. Based on the logic u described, would u say rekordbox stems are 'good' because they run on any computer? We all know it's the worst on the market and their will be a trade off it is to improve. The ram and processor are secondary for stems with vdj, thus having more of either won't be effective in processing the stems in vdj. On an M1 Macbook pro, it takes 10 secs on average per track to process stems 2.0 live. On a 1650 GTX it takes 30secs on average and so the 1070 it would be even slower.

Wow - I have a Universal Audio Apollo x8 and I absolutely hate the mixing / console software. I wish it had a fraction of the functionality of Total Mix. You only have aux and cue mixes and you can't freely route your audio around - and don't even mention loopback functionality. Yes it is there but there is a LOT to be left desired. I'm actually considering switching to RME for TotalMix and its full routing flexibility as I'm super frustrated by the limitations of the Apollo.

I prefer without the plugins added. I have both these mics also. The Sennheiser perfect has it is. The Rode has a beautiful sound also. If I were to make any changes to the audio, I would make them meet in the middle. If you make the Sennheiser more crisp and more sibilant it sounds wrong and a little jarring, especially over time, similarly if the NTG3 is made to sound more warm and bassy it loses its clarity and can sound a little muddy. I purchased my NTG3 first and loved it, and then purchased the 416, thinking would replace the NTG3, but instead, I found that I loved them both.

Well , it is NOT true! I bought XP2, it is in the supported "unlock devices, but it NOT works with ver 7. REV5 Pioneer is also "supported" but still NOT work! Pioneer simply lie the customers! Thats it.

I know this is an old video. But I absolutely love total mix FX. It’s Yoni interface mixer that I’ve come across where as long as you got enough to hook up all your hardware you do not need a patchbay. It’s easily the most flexible that I’ve ever seen.

I think maybe, you don't understand the tech. I am a software engineer and have cdjs and sc6000ms. Pioneer effects and feel is nice, but denon is better in so many areas and library management is a breeze for me on my pc

I think exactly the oposite. If what you are saying is true, then why everybody are using Pioneer? Try something. Call "why buy new" and tell them , I have 2x Denon sc6000 for sale. See their offer. They will offer you maximum 1000 gbp for the set with cases. That discribes very well, what is good and what not. Again, if you think differently, instead of talking bul...make your own video and explain why you think that way. I am sure, that the car that you drive, will not be my first choise, thats why shut up, and be well! 100 people ,100 taste. And mine was described honestly, after spending my own cash.
