Denon SC6000 vs Pioneer Review pros cons

Mate, I 100% disagree with most of your points. Denon SC6000 and Engine Dj does what you want. 1. The play button.... Press and hold cue or keep pressing cue until you're where it's at and then press play, it continues from there. 2. ExFat is same as Fat32 and you have been able to do this on windows with a simple right click and format if external drive as if it was an ubs drive. 3. Lights flash when they are in use and solid when not. Other points I'll address but don't agree with the use cases you say. Pioneer 3000s are good but not as good as SC6000.

I said what I feel and what I don't like in real use. I don't care if it works for you. I care that in my case it NOT WORK as expected. And for PLAY button I am right. 3 people has the same issue. I did not even mentioned brand new unit defective that I had to return it for faulty WI FI . It took them 5 months to fix it. The MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVR! WILL NOT BUY DENON NEVER AGAIN!

I've never understood why the Denon SC6000M aren't sold out everywhere. They are, by far, the best value stand alone players. With quality comparable to the Pioneer.

No, the quality is nowhere near what Pioneer offers. My experience with Denon prime was unbelievable. Shorted ground in the mixer that caused all sorts of problems. The inside of that mixer showed a lot of bad soldering, loose connections, poor wire routing, bad fitment, etc.. Even the media player had problems with buttons being out of alignment with the cover plate and being partially stuck under the cover rendering the function unusable. Shocking quality issues. Never an issue with any Pioneer players going all the way back to the cdj-100, to current models.

my pioneer decks collect dust, i use my denon gear 90% of the time for fun and music exploration, i only fire up the pioneers when getting record box sticks ready, i agree 100% with all your points

If you drag and drop each folder into the software,.it will turn your computer folder into a playlist with the same name, essentially replicating your entire structure. Did this with mine, took about 15 mins to get everything in order.

Hey, just so you know you have to format that SATA drive to exfat or fat32 AND in Master Boot Record Scheme, if you don't do that second part, you'll have problems for sure.

Pioneer more robust ?. I was there at Creamfields next to Mr Jam when the pioneer decks died in the pouring rain. But the Denon SC's and the Denon mixer were fine in direct rain. Why ?. Because they have a waterproof rating the the circuit boards inside are conformal coated, where as Pioneer are not.

I take issue with your opinion that Pioneer hardware is more robust than Denon. might have been the case in the past. but their recent hardware releases from the 3000, to the A9 have been trash. I repair these things regularly. The components in both of those devices are stripped from a multitude of older Pioneer DJ hardware and controllers. they fail, they break and are worth shit imo. their warranty is also complete garbage and a waste of time.. these things should not have ever been consider industry standard. pioneer is a failing company. they do not do their own research and development anymore. they copy from Denon. the reason they're not lowering their prices on these devices is because it would literally end the Denon DJ brand. no one would buy then and DJ if the Pioneer equivalent was priced in the same sphere.. you were right about that. and then in DJ is the ad hoc r&d department for Pioneer DJ. Denon DJ will release something with top of the line components and next level features.. Pioneer will buy a bunch of them and hand them over to their engineers to reverse engineer everything in it. few months later, Pioneer releases their own little version with a extra $1,000 premium price added on for shits and giggles (and because DJ morons who cannot DJ depend on record box, serato, traktor and pro dj link to actually do the heavy lifting when performing). DJ industry didn't enable pioneer as much as it is enabling it, you wouldn't be seeing this ridiculous asinine price. they're pricing would bankrupt any electronic company in any other industry. but the DJ industry is aimed at the most stupid consumer there is. the DJ. no backbone, no talent. cannot do any of the work on their own and depends on Pioneers asinine effects and synchronization to hide their complete lack of skills when behind the decks

What is the name of the software that you use to format your drive in fat 32? Another software out there and a lot of it only does it for drives how are smaller than 2 terabytes or 2tb partitions. My library is 3 or 4 TB. Thanks

I think maybe, you don't understand the tech. I am a software engineer and have cdjs and sc6000ms. Pioneer effects and feel is nice, but denon is better in so many areas and library management is a breeze for me on my pc

I think exactly the oposite. If what you are saying is true, then why everybody are using Pioneer? Try something. Call "why buy new" and tell them , I have 2x Denon sc6000 for sale. See their offer. They will offer you maximum 1000 gbp for the set with cases. That discribes very well, what is good and what not. Again, if you think differently, instead of talking bul...make your own video and explain why you think that way. I am sure, that the car that you drive, will not be my first choise, thats why shut up, and be well! 100 people ,100 taste. And mine was described honestly, after spending my own cash.

To me all of those pioneer advantages are not real. To me denon looks better and i dont see pioneer players more robust. The recordbox software is bad as well. Denon can import playlists of traktor and other software as well

@@electronicbox6990 i would go for denon all the time. I used pioneer, i cant stand them. I dont understand why i should use 2 so big clunky players to play two.tracks. its a thing of the past. I used to do what big players do with my little traktor x1 , with one hand and ultra fast. I wish the denon would be even smaller with the same functionality and the same screen. Its ridiculous pioneer and others still try to emulate a big and unreasonablen turntable layout. In the past they had tondo it this way but not in 2024! I want both players at the fingertips of one hand. Mixer in the middle, player on rhe right. Thats the best way to work and everything djs need. And yes i am a working pro since 1999. I have seen them all.

If you want to use Serato, the Rane 4 is a solid choice. The version with spinning platters will be released soon. With Serato you don't have to worry about file system types but you add a laptop to the system.

i highly doubt the alphatheta garbage feels better than these players, i have two sc6000 4 rp8000mk2 on a djm v10 and the players coatings feel more premium than the knobs on a 3500€ mixer, which is pathetic. also the big knobs on the 3band master eq on the v10 don't even zero correctly, if i put the knobs to zero one shows -3 the other -2 and the middle one is set directly in the middle. actual dealbreaker for a 3500€ product.. there is nothing like that on the sc6000's and even the reloop players have nothing like that. only one of the 4 had a broken track select knob on the midi controller section, which i could fix by putting a little spacer below the knob cap. all in all i highly doubt pioneer will deliver a good player experience, and it will especially not be worth double the price of the denons.

Real answer = Pioneer if you ever want to play at a venue or event. Denon if you are a hobbyist or social media DJ. I was always a part time DJ, balancing an unrelated professional career with playing bars / clubs / events at weekends. About 10 years ago I decided to focus on my real career and sold the pioneer stuff. 3 years ago i wanted a small setup to mess around with with at home + the 6000 had just come out - it was a no brainer given the tech and dual layers (4 decks on 2 players). This saves on space and a load of cash and im happy with this setup. But my advice to any aspiring DJ thats wants to play out and get paid, go Pioneer. I guess if your thing is mixes for KZbin or TikTok, you could use whatever you want and budget allows, but if you ever get big enough your going to have to invest in new gear and learning how to use it all over again. Oh yeah, Recordbox will be a bitch to move everything over.
