At a race track and not even one shot of it being raced?

I still can understand why 4 strokes took so long to compete with 2s. I always thought the 4s would never beat a 2. Like a horse vs a donkey. What happened?

Yes byi grew up with those badass bikes! I bought a 22 kx 250 no where near the experience 🤔 i just don't enjoy riding it as much as I would one of those!

That rear tire should be retired on such a nice bike.😢

The 84 RM250 was probably my favorite ride of all the bikes I owned. I think I even had that jersey.

A couple of my neighbors had a few like that. RM125 and RM250. They use to take me for a ride but had me sit in front since I was so small. I had a blast on those bikes lol. Would love to own one to restore. But something that's not in super rough shape. I love old vintage bikes. My favorite is the Honda Elsinore dirt bike. 125 and 250. Not sure if they came in 80cc or not. But either one works for me 😃❤

As a kid back in the early 80s, my neighbor had a Maico 490 spider. That thing was a beast back then lol. We lived in a trailer park where it had dirt roads then. And my god that dude would kick some serious ass with that bike! Us kids used to sit out by the road and watch him ride. There used to be trails galore near the park. Every weekend there'd be at least 40 to 50 bikes of all types kicking up sand and dirt through those trails and to hear those sweet 2 strokes echo through the woods was awesome!! 😃❤. They used to line up and race as if they were really on the super moto track. My neighbor used to smoke them all in the turns lol

Nice bikes but change your title to 1982 Suzuki 465 not 1885. Not sure they made dirt bikes back then. And the '84 RM250 was sweet too. I had an old '78 Yamaha XT500 I bought and tried to restore. Didn't have a title and put tons of money into. I lost interest because I couldn't hardly get parts for it unless they came from overseas, super expensive and had to wait months before parts came through. So unfortunately I sold it and the guy that bought it low balled me when he said he'd pay top dollar in his ad. In his ad it stated runs or not title or not, will pay top dollar for old bikes. I had around $4500 invested and paid $500 for the whole bike just for Mr low baller to give me $300. Smfh, if I only had a title for it I could of gotten way more. But what I should of done was left it alone and bought something to restore with a title. So that was a lesson learned the hard and expensive way lol. I took a gigantic hurting on that bike. A lot of parts I bought for the bike I still have. Like chrome coil over shocks and adjustable and the chrome swing arm. That alone was $1200!! That stayed lol. But the frame was blasted and powder coated with. It was black with white fenders and silver tank. I bought orange plastics for it and a new rear knobby. And just minor stuff. But all added up quick! Lol, the engine was free, meaning it wasn't seized up. Just needed rebuilt. It needed a ton of parts to get it rideable again. I still restore bikes, but mainly mini bikes or smaller dirt bikes and not as old lol. My dream restore dirt bike is a 1980 or so Honda Elsinore 125. Since I've had Hondas about all my life. I've had others also but mostly Honda

I grew up on 2 wheels in Brevard county (right next to Cape Canaveral) in the 60's/70's. i was winning mini bike races on my dept store bought modified 3.5 HP Tecumseh engined minibike back in the race what you brung days. Then the Honda mini 50's and mini 70's started showing up with more HP and transmissions and suspension. I was probably one of the best riders in the county at that time and could usually beat who showed up but it was very difficult against superior equipment. I showed my Dad an article in Minibike/Minicycle Magazine about the new Bonanza minicycle, looked pretty much like a minibike but had suspension with a rear swing arm and telescopic forks and a hodaka 100cc engine with 5 speed transmission an expansion chamber and foam air cleaner. I didn't even suggest to my Dad that he buy one but next thing I know one shows up from Oregon in a big box. Long story short, we show up at the next mini bike race and I am pulling power wheelies thru the pits at 40 mph. My Dad told me to cool it but it was too late, a bunch of the dad's went to the race sponsor and complained that my scooter should be banned. The sponsor agreed and told us we were banned in a rider meeting but my Dad, who was an Engineer at The Cape for GE, stepped forward and gave a very eloquent defense, saying we had been racing against the Hondas with full suspension, bigger tires and transmissions for months on a self modified store bought lawn mower engined mini bike and that there were no by laws regarding what was allowable other than an age limit of 14. So the sponsor relented and let me race. The Bonanza would do 55+ mph and would pull wheelies at 50 mph. I lapped the field four or five times and it was a real man against boy race. They quickly banned transmissions with clutches and went to a 70cc engine limit...so basically that was the end of my mini bike racing days. I moved on to a YZ100 motocrosser and then a YZ125, earning an AMA Expert license in 125cc motocross my sr. year in HS ('75).
