Joan Rivers and Paul O’Grady (Lily Savage) really knew how to demonstrate an absolute masterclass in comedy. Both at the absolute top of their games, class and field, and both are gone now. So sad.

I think the fact that we had only three tv channels, was a good thing. I never felt like I was missing anything. And we all had shared experiences, which bound us together and gave us shared memories. A tv show with Ché and Tony drawing on a politician. Something tells me the twitterati would be moaning about this now 😂😂
Still can’t comprehend a life without Paul O’Grady. Huge loss to the world 😥

Loved Lily Savage as a teenager. Loved Paul O’Grady. Such a kind and hilarious man. Re-watching all these Lily Savage stand up specials in order, you can see she just got better, more natural, and more hilarious with each one.

I remember this show as a young child, the gallery music left memories of the 1970’s. I always thought he reminded me of a very serious Benny Hill character.

Moved here a year ago and boy did I pick the best city in the UK to move to? I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The most friendly people, the best landscape and most of all, none of the crowds and the traffic.

Excellent show. There was an awkward moment though at 40:30 . Just when Lily mentions ".... a boyfriend called Barry", the camera goes to Diana, who had an affair with her bodyguard Barry Manneke, who then died in a motorbike accident shortly after.😬

why are actors in soaps and reality shows called "Stars " ? Stars are likes of the top of the bill actors in major films, not some untalented actor or non entity who happens to be in a reality show.

I remember this show very well. It was the summer 1975 & we were all outside playing games. We’d come inside every so often & this was on. Lovely memories.

I just took a look for nostalgic reasons. But watching it now it's so much better than most shows around today for kids. It really draws you in (pun intended). I think we lived in better times to be honest.

My grandfather worked at Vickers building tanks, couldn't join the army in 1914 to young in 45 he was building tanks, he worked at Vickers naval yard until 1929 got paid off because of depression, then back into Vickers Armstong until he was 64 years old. Paid him off as he was clapped out like a knackered old horse got 7 shilling a week pension never took a penny in welfare and died after spending his savings with nowt. Funking twats of tories!

When I was a kid, we went with the physics teacher to see the swing bridge. He might as well spoke in Latin to what I learnt! But the bridge fascinated me as did the man who operated it.

Unsolved mystery - my memory of the early '80s Take Hart, and especially the Take Hart On Holiday series, involves a title theme tune which wasn't Left Bank One, or Passion Fruit, or Marguerite, but a snippet of synthesizer music...revolving around a musical phrase similar to the "love my beacon" line in "Satan Can't Hurt Me"...but I've never found any evidence of this online.
