It is a wonderful video and such respect for the animals. I have one question, I thought it was not recommended to sit on the zodiac fin close to the water while the boat hasn't stopped. How do you manage?
@PierreROBERTdeLATOUR
@PierreROBERTdeLATOUR 3 ай бұрын
Actually, when we are ready to jump, the speed of the boat is very low. And our boat drivers are trained to react. Switch off engine when they say "go". Or if someone jump before the "go". No danger, so... but good point.

Normal feeling. Even with experience I am not comfortable in this situation. I trust orcas 100%. I dont trust humpback whales 100% when they interact in a feeding. The best is to keep a good distance. And observe from afar.

I think all Dolphins are almost unique for human interaction, certain primates being one of the few others. Thay are smart enough to communicate well enough with us and would let us know if they wanted us gone. I have no issue with this activity at all. Especially as you use great common sense. You have nothing to justify here. Where some of us have issues is with situations like people encroaching in a sharks personal space next to a whale cascass and similar. I have seen some pretty foolish stuff done around sharks. I am almost 100% sure swimming with Dolphin species is as enriching for them as it is us, or at least we intrigue them for a while. I actually think your protocol and standards for interacting with Orca should be a standard for anyone wishing to swim with them.

If there's one thing i want to do before i leave this earth, that is to swim with orcas. I usually go once a year to see the orcas in monterey bay when they come during "orca season". I'm always in awe when I'm lucky enough to observe orcas.

Thank you very very much for everything Mr De La Tour. I wish, one day, every wild life will be free as the 1st day on earth. I hate the Marineland Park, there is one close from where I'm living, this one is in Antibes, in the south of France. When I was a little child my father take me there with a group from his job. When I saw all the wild life in a small jail, I was crying and screaming. Then it was a shame for my father and my 1st fight for the rights of wild life... But now in 2024, nothing move as fast orcas need. I'm reading your Book, and you give me some hope. As the movie of Luc Besson " le Grand Bleu". Thank you for all your team.

I know your intentions are good, but please do not do this. It is wrong to engage with them on this level inside and outside of captivity. None of us speak whale and they have off days just like humans. If they feel agitated or think you are getting too close they will react. Especially with female orcas they are extremely dominant and protective. They do not need our company, please just admire them from a far and leave them be.

Isn’t it great, how in Norway you can swim with Orca. In primitive New Zealand it is illegal to swim with these incredible animals. Our government thinks it is necessary to not allow us to endanger ourselves. Of course this ridiculous and embarrassing. Please don’t end up like us
