Golden age of orcas in Tysfjord - Part 1 - The banquet of the giants
When I saw orcas feeding during the first years of orca expeditions, I was also impressed by the number of birds turning like a twister above us, using the wind to take their best advantage. They could be so noisy too!
They were waiting for some pieces of herring, a few leftovers from the banquet of the giants, the apex predator: Orcas.
We could observe them from early morning to late and long evening in the most beautiful sunsets and landscapes that I have ever seen.
The Lofoten islands and the Tysfjord, Svolvaer, Skrova, Lödingen, Henningsvaer, Nussfjord…
All of these places are forever in my heart.
After 21 years in USEA Expeditions and more than 6 000 underwater close encounters with orcas, whales and dolphins, My goal is still to know more about this oceanic civilisation, to understand more about their langage and their social life and to share with each of you video witnessing this amazing experience.

R these orcas smaller than say the southern resident population. They seem smaller
