I'm sure it's very nice in the US (I once had a stopover in NYC on my way to South America,) but if I thought my own country was way inferior to the US, I'd move over ! The first big issue is health. Even if your income should be a bit lower, look how much you save on not having to pay a dime for health.!! Another thing - you almost never need to look over your shoulder when walking down even the darkest alleys.! There are lots of other things too which make you happy, and personally I dont find too much pressure in having to have material wealth to impress anyone - especially girls who seem far more enthusiastic about guys with good bodies, and who make time to cook nice dinners for their girlfriends.

You asked for todays function of our classic buildings. A lot if them never changed their use. Churches and cathedrals still follow their religious function, some castle-like built railway stations still used as railway stations.... Castles are oftten still owned by members of the family who founded them and they still live there. But to be honest - mostly you will find a museum inside, even if they are inhabited. Another thing you asked for are these 'small brown sticks' in some classic buildings. They are half-timbered houses, where the main structure was built of oak beams (the brown sticks) and the gaps filled up with a braid of branches and coated with a thick layer if a mixture of clay and straw. Today the clay has often been replaced by bricks. And you wondered what the roofs are made from. In case of the greenish ones you where fully right: its copper, wheatered from red to the green patina. The reddish roof tiles are fired clay and the gray/black ones are built with shingles of slate.

I don't mind the slave joke. ( I get its very taboo in the US to talk about ) But every location on the earth and every race and nationality have used and had slaves in history. Its just a fact. Africans had slaves. Asians had slaves, South Americans had them. North American, European. No matter where you go, and who you look at their for fathers had slaves. Its bad. It is. But, its okay to joke about bad things. However his point was wrong. The Pyramids was not really build by slaves. It was done by free Egyptians mostly. He could have used other examples though to give the same effect. Great wall of China was build by slaves, at least many parts of it. Colosseum in Rome. Well many places.

While he wasn't against lambasting anyone on either side of the political spectrum, he would definitely lean left with the vast majority of his ideological stances. He was anti establishment, really, and spoke about the dangers of oligarchy. He absolutely would've been disgusted with the modern republican party and maga and would've not held back in any way and I would've been there for every minute of it

Your smile is so warm and always puts me in a better mood 😊 There's also a video of Louis CK actually tearing up (incredibly off character for him) as he's honoring George Carlin just after he died. Apparently, George was one of his comedy heroes who Louis credits with his own success. Might be worth a watch.

Just a fun fact: Building cities and castles in Germany began in earnest about 2000 years ago. All started by those Latino immigrants coming over the Alps. Since then it was a long slog to come up with all those results you see on screen. Somtimes interupted by devastation we inflicted on ourselves. But as the English say: A good lawn will be had if you keep maintaining it for 400 years.

How tall is a doorway in france? 6' 8 " ? How wide is a door? 3-0 2-4 ? how thick? 1 3/4" or 1 3/8" what is it in metrik? Simple fact is a Meter is too big for most of what we need to measure. A km is too small for a driven distance. A centimeter is too small unless you need less than 5 with no decimal. Easy to estimate 1 to 12 inches. I learned as a kid that you can look at a group of 6 objects and recognize it as 6 objects. At 7 or more you are seeing two groups of objects and adding them together like 3 and 4 if 7 or 4 and 5 if 9. Experience has taught me that this is about always the way it goes. Adopting the Metric system is nothing but 1 more little trick to alienate older Americans,. Of course, it is an expensive conversion as well as an unnecessary one.

This is such Globalist B.S..!! Metrik is such a propaganda item. This is just more of the demonic psyco stroking of a few generations into thinking they and everything their blue haired teachers taught them makes them individually far superior than everybody else. Should we change the number of degrees to 100 rather than 360? Why not? Cuz 360 divisible by almost everything. a bar. so a tire has a pressure of 2 bar maybe 3 or 2.21 How about 32 lbs or 45 lbs? Easier to get a grasp on. get real. A centimeter or a meter. ha. How about a foot or an inch or a fraction of an inch. ? 12 inches to a foot. so can get 6x2 or 4x3 8+4. 5 is no good nor 7. ok. 100 centimeters. approximate a length of 8 " to centimeters? Easy. 2.5 c to 1" so 3" + 1/2" STUPID, (which is easy to approximate). An acre is roughly 200' by 200 feet. Nice lot for a country house. a mile is kind of short for automobile travel in the U.S. outside of a city. a km is stupid small for about anything motorized. 1/100th of an inch is a tiny but usable unit with a good steel rule and a sharp scribe. Thousandth of an inch is fine for most machine work. Is not inferior to decimals of a mm. Sum it up- 1" and fractions there of is easier to use for estimating than decimals of centimeters. a 12 inch foot is very friendly to sizes of wood or small metal and other matl shapes with the easy divisibility. Not much difference between a yard and a meter except the meter doesn't have easy divisibility. Yards aren't used much where feet and inches are used anyway. Teaspoon and fractions thereof, tablespoon, cup and it's fractions, pint quart gallons-- all easy. Steel strip and flatbar can be bought 3/8" 1/2" 5/8 3/4 7/8 all easy and mate with others to arrive at other round simple dimensions. Metric does not do this. a room in a house must be spoken of in meter.x to make sense. Too complicated. a 16' x 12' foot bedroom is easy to envision and doesn't need decimals to estimate adequately. Some engineering stuff is easier in English. Tons of refrigeration capacity. pounds of pressure or vacuum, Gallons per minute GPM. It is a matter of a unit that serves intuitively and compares with familiar objects. Converting is not a big deal. This thing of just multiplying by ten is not the end all for this discussion. Fact is, a base 12 system would be way better than a base ten. obviously. 5280 feet to a mile. 1760 yards 880 to half mile. not often one needs convert between feet and miles and never inches to mile so the times ten conversion point is meaningless. Of course if you were sufficiently superior in intellect to handle the incredibly complicated fractions of 1/2" 1/4" 1/8" 1/16" and rarely 1/32", you'd be able to make a better evaluation. ten is a lousy base for a measuring system. 360 degrees. 12 inches to a foot. and fractionally divided inches are easy and intuitive. Centimeters are tiny. a Meter is Huge. A km is too small. dealing with hundredths of a kilogram to bake bread? rather than 1 cup or 1/2 teaspoon. Just cuiz the American education system decided you don't need to learn arithmetic does not mean I should adopt this shit metric system.
