Either the seats were a special order or the inserts have already been replaced once. The stock cloth inserts on a 76 trim code would be solid black nylon cloth material. 56 is vinyl, 86 is leather. The material in this car looks a lot like 1963 Falcon cloth, not sure.

The few thin spots in the paint were you can see the primer means this car has been buffed many times.

Notice the aluminum trim on the edges of the seatbacks? You can also see aluminum trim on the inboard seat bottoms. For SOME reason that same trim is missing on the outboard seat bottoms.

My first guess would be the power steering pump. I don't think it's the transmission. I owned a '65 T-Bird and the PS pump was messed up and made that noise. The wipers are hydraulic and integrated in the PS system.

It looks like it doesn't have the weather stripping under the drip moldings for the windows.🤣 a little touch up on the door? Looks like Joe Biden was opening that door into his corvette and forgot not to open it so far every single time he got in and out.🤣
@mooosestang27 күн бұрын
looks like the weather stripping is there at least on the drivers side, but it was either over sprayed with paint or it's badly weathered.

1969 was my favorite year Cadillac. I don’t know what there was about it but I have always loved it. An older couple who lived down the street from me had a Coupe deVille. I swear that the owner never drove it over 35 miles per hour. I could just hear those 375 horsepower begging to be unleashed!

Love the car. My mom had a triple black and I used to love driving it. Don’t we all wish we had a parent’s cars? My mom and dad loved new cars and were quite lavish on spur of the moment purchases. Love the video, but please don’t do it while you walk in gravel/dirt, annoying sound. It lessens the importance of the car! Let alone dirties that beautiful carpet. ❤❤❤❤ it.

Mine is identical to this car. Mine has 32,000 miles, been in a garage since 1996. Obviously, I’m replacing the end caps, they are being manufactured right now for me, made of soft material, similar to the originals, no fiberglass. Otherwise, my car’s paint is almost flawless. Getting brand new end cap chrome as well with my order.

Dude you bought this car from Viva Las Vega cars and you're just turning around to flip it. Do you think we haven't seen this car before on the other dealer's KZbin Channel??? You flippers are killing the collector car industry because of your filthy greed.
@iconicautos2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did purchase the car from Viva Las Vegas Cars, and I will always been transparent about that. When I acquire a vehicle, I invest time and resources to ensure it’s in the best possible condition before offering it for sale. This process often involves additional maintenance and improvements, which benefits the next owner. Regarding your concern about flipping, it’s important to recognize that buying and selling cars is a business that many enthusiasts and collectors participate in. It helps keep the market dynamic and ensures that cars find new homes where they will be appreciated and cared for. Passion for classic cars is what drives this market, and every transaction helps maintain the vibrancy of our community. My goal is to connect these beautiful vehicles with new owners who will cherish them.

@@iconicautos OK that complete word salad answer is exactly what i would expect from someone trying to gouge people on the sale of a vehicle. There is no way in HELL that you invested any additional substantial time and money in a car that needed nothing more than a set of white wall tires. The people that watched the original video of this car saw the condition and originality so please don't insult future buyers/collectors will all this nonsense. Cars trading hands on a more frequent basis only cause additional middlemen like yourself to market up the vehicles to an unrealistic value. You do NOT add anything to the appreciation/desirability of owning that car.

@@klwthe3rd To keep it simple, it's good old American capitalism that makes the world go round and has made America what it is today. If you don't like it, I really don't know what to say. Maybe move somewhere that prides itself on communism. Everything is bought and resold for a profit. KZbin is making a profit off you right now. Either way, I really don't care what you think. This is how I make money and feed my family. Plus, the buyer of the car was happy, the seller was happy, and I was happy, so mind your own business. Have a great day, sir!

@@iconicautos No capitalism is destroying everyone and everything because of GREED. It's people like you that are making the car collecting hobby a cesspool of degenerates. Honest collectors aren't flippers. You only motivation is money, not the beautiful vehicles themselves. For that reason you should be ashamed of yourself.

Too bad this is not a restoration back to the original. Which would have way more cool. My father-in-law had a '57 Bel Air 4-door hardtop straight off the floor of his brother's Chevy dealership. I drove it a few times. Definitely not fuel injection, but would chirp the tires at 50. Hate to say this, but that steering wheel is ugly, not original and even if I could afford this car, wouldn't buy it. Sorry to be a wet blanket but I was a '50's kid, could drive at 17 and we had a '56 Buick Century convertible, red/white top, demo with everything including leather. So original is original and this car ain't.
@iconicautos2 ай бұрын
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and there's really no need to leave a comment on my video just to criticize the steering wheel or the fact that the car is modified. If this car isn't to your taste, I suggest spending your time more constructively by exploring cars you do like-those that are stock-and sharing positive feedback about them, rather than spreading negativity that doesn't contribute to anything!

I had a white 66 Coupe DeVille with red interior back in the 90's. I absolutely loved everything about that car except that it got around 10 mpg highway and 3-5 mpg in town. Every cent I made that summer went into its 33 gallon gas tank. I loved cruising it but it was rapidly running me broke, and that was when gas was $.99. Converting this to electric feels like the right way to hot rod one of these. I love it, I want it, I'll be watching the auction for sure :) I would want to add a second 55kw battery bank so it would have a 200 mile range
