A lot of long radius corners at Watkins that require a lot of patience in some cases. Understeer would suggest you are pushing the front axle too much too early and you need to dial it back a few %. Patience is key in the longer radius corners

@CoachDaveAcademy I nearly don't feel the peak of self-aligning torque of tyres in Ferrari 296 in Le Mans Ultimate using a direct drive wheel. It's very hard to perceive it and the feedback mostly feels even at the moment of peak and when you exceed that peak. In ACC in contrast to LMU it's very easy to perceive. I would be grateful if you can tell if you easily feel the self-aligning torque peak in the real Ferrari 296 GT3? Thank you.
@CoachDaveAcademy5 күн бұрын
I'd say that ACC has the closest FFB 'feel' compared to real life. But in ACC you are missing a bunch of feedback from braking and the tyre sliding across the surface. Still, it's the best of a bad bunch. None of them are perfect.

@CoachDaveAcademy5 күн бұрын
Sim racing setups are *very* different to real life due to the limitations of what a racing game is capable of simulating, the accuracy of the rules relative to real life... etc. There are just too many factors to cover before sim can consider how close their setups are to real life. It's better to think of racing game setups as a way to decode what the developers of each sim perceive to be important.

TLDR- Lines Suck, This explanation is GREAT! Ive taken my race lines off this season, its gotten worse before its gotten better for sure. Fighting the urge to put them back on just to put a stronger time up in a Lobby has been the bane of my existence over the last few weeks. I just keep reminding myself that my fastest time with them, isn't going to touch my fastest times without em, and that I have nothing to "Show" yet. Helps to cool my jets some and just focus on what needs done.. That said.. This is the Strongest lap explanation ive found for Glen Classic Boot so far. Their are some important clues given on this lap that have shaved some time off where I had Plataued.

Can anyone explain me why everything with the Field of view in sims seems so odd? Like super zoomed in? Doesn't it feel weird while driving?
@CoachDaveAcademy12 күн бұрын
It's a preference thing. The way my rig is setup means my seat position in-game is setup as a 'window into the world' of that sim. But on videos like this it makes it feel like you're sitting on the dashboard. There's a great explainer video on FOV that can be found on Chris Haye's KZbin channel. ~ Dave

Thank you for this comparison. It is always interesting for simracers :) There is one very interesting thing in the latest LMU. And it is ABS force feedback effect on the wheel, which is ridiculous to me. It's something that is unusual in real cars, as well as on other sims. I have no idea why they implemented such thing. It is extremely annoying for me - and the only reason I don't play LMU. My experience is based on 720S, I didn't buy DLC because of that. David, can you take up the challenge and speak out about this issue?

How about the DAMAGES vs REAL LIFE DAMAGES ? It seems that ALL sims don’t care about realistic damage model where real life is really unforgiving regarding damages… Few damages points: Engine, transmission, bodywork,…. Wish damage model of sims get more attention !
