Hmmm. Not sure if audio alone is worth trying a game, lol Might consider if the handling at low speed is improved upon…but that is a pretty major component to handling and FFB. I have read and seen across multiple reviews since the update/LMGT3 add on, and to your point - the universal consensus is the low speed ‘feels’, or lack thereof.

I call that nitpicking. No sim is subject to this level of nitpicking, whilst iRacing has had for TWO YEARS a sad-sack and wholly unrealistic representation of the GTP class (LMDh) and only now that they completely &%$#$ the joint, people start to realise the scam around that iRacing mantra of 'the most realistic'.

Thank you for providing some legitimacy to those who have been complaining about the low speed force feedback. Some of us are getting of tired of being told by LMU zealots that our skills are lacking or the game is doing everything perfectly, or it's just our equipment. Hopefully feedback from a real 296 GT3 driver will move the needle for studio 396. They are so close. I have to ask about wheel oscillation and violent little jolts (quick FFB grab+release) going down the straight. How much of that is realistic?
@CoachDaveAcademy19 сағат бұрын
If you’re struggling with the movement on the straights I would recommend turning down your FFB. In real life the steering is pretty light because of the power steering. Never got the chance to race cars, did race karts during a career spanning 20 years starting at 1989. rFactor 2 has been my go to sim and while the physics may be too slidey for cars they did feel very natural for me that I had grown used to driving karts on low grip hard tires (racing on a budget) on low grip Greek tracks. iRacing? there's no feel of the limit, cars just snap out of control and I don't like turning in a million laps just to be able to keep the car on track. Next year the Virtual Endurance Championship will migrate from RF2 to LMU and I will migrate too with it. I found the comments on the FFB intriguing, driving the GT3s and some other cars in RF2 through some medium to high speed corners the cars sometimes feel absolutely sensational on certain tracks and corners, bringing back real life memories, this does not happen at the slow stuff. I remember driving the Palatov D4 on Croft in RF2 and at the last S of the track, the way the car gripped and changed direction was so reminiscent of my kart I was almost in tears from joy, I could just feel it like irl minus the g-forces and somehow the way it was translated through the wheel it kind of immitated the g-forces as well. I had to stop racing due to family and job obligations and simracing helped me maintain sanity and make the transition to family life without feeling I had lost much. Same for modern cars that are total shite, I bought a bike instead, I get my driving fix in RF2 nowadays and I'm a happy bunny, they can keep the electric steering and shove it... Cheers!

@AL.farmlife4 сағат бұрын
now I end up opening controller folder and corrected inside the value of coefficient and saturation
@AL.farmlife3 сағат бұрын
btw: In Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), steering resistance coefficient and saturation settings affect the force feedback (FFB) behavior, specifically the weight and dynamic range of the steering feel. Here’s a breakdown: Steering Resistance Coefficient This setting adjusts the level of resistance felt when turning the wheel. It simulates how heavy or light the steering feels by adding friction or damping forces to the wheel. Higher values result in heavier steering, giving a stronger sensation of the car’s resistance to turning. Lower values make the steering feel lighter and easier to turn, which may suit long stints to reduce fatigue. Saturation Saturation determines the maximum output of the FFB signal. It effectively compresses or limits the strength of the forces. Higher saturation makes forces feel more pronounced, but it may cause clipping (where subtle details are lost because the force exceeds the wheel's capability). Lower saturation allows for finer detail but at the cost of less overall strength.

@6:18 I feel like the FFB for every car needs a look over. It feels like you get an initial resistance on turn-in, but then the steering goes numb. It’s hard to feel understeer or oversteer in my opinion. The McLaren 720s GT3 is really bad with that, as is the LMP2 cars in my opinion. It could be my settings, but I have heard other people say that as well, including James Baldwin. I have obviously never driven any of these cars in real life though, so my only reference is iRacing and ACC. To me, ACC is much worse, and I can’t figure out how to drive around it.

But here in LMU after 10 laps I stop feeling ABS at most because I start braking properly up to the limit of ABS. And what interesting is that ac1 has abs vibrations(ffb) and people make it as if LMU came with it🤦🏿♂️. Ac1 is theee benchmark…..

Is this video sponsored by lmu in any way?
@Gaas3519 сағат бұрын
well they make setups for LMU so probably promoting that but still good to hear another opinion

No, this is my own take. We support multiple sims through SimGrid and Coach Dave. Everything from GT7 to iRacing and now LMU. We could make a video about almost any sim and get accused of being biased. But that’s not the case :) ~ Dave

I think what these sims get wrong (that iRacing implemented) is the audio in the car/helmet. LMU sounds like ur in a convertible just like every other “sim” vs iRacing which has the choice of multiple different helmets and ear plugs

Really? Where are those settings in iRacing?

@@CoachDaveAcademy Sound -> bottom left. I’m not at computer right now but it’s by the XA2 compressor drop down. You can select multiple different types of in car . I think it’s just called in car sound . You’ll see it

Oh I have to agree, it's nice to hear the engine, but it makes a LOT more sense to hear the muffle! I don't like playing iracing without the ear muffs!

I think they need to listen to guys like you not some 15 year old kid that races on a controller talking about how bad the ffb and physics are.

They do. They also use James Baldwin for feedback on realism. ~ Dave

Sounds like LM series operators are wankers if you have to sandbag GT3 so they don’t aren’t faster than theirs..

Ah, I think they’re great. Not AMS2 level obviously but definitely a big step above iRacing. ~ Dave

watch Jimmy Broadbent's stream of a race he organised for his community, at Fuji. Surely you will think differently. I think Dave's video capture did not have anti-liaising and does look a bit bad.
