What a pleasure this was ❤️ a great experience for anyone looking for lap time. Honestly I didn’t think I was going to find it. Not in an egotistical way, but in a “skill issue” way. And to find this time and consistency afterwards really made me think. This is an aspect of sim racing that many ignore.

Hi Dave, i wanted to leave a big thank you. Only watching your video made me faster on spa in LMU from 2.20.8 consistent into 2.19's in just 2 laps onwards. I was always struggling on Spa, dependless of the game. But this opened my mind for GT3 cars. Also now I'm even more able to work with the Delta app. The 100% throttle feature is awesome. Thanks!

Excellent video. I started sim racing just before my 64th birthday in 2020 and here I am at 68 still sim racing and using Coach Dave Delta software to help me improve. Most of my racing has been in league races in the Ferrari 488 and then the 296 and agree that you need to be smooth to drive it well. I meet Laurence in 2023 at the Sim Expo but unfortunately couldn't make it in 2024. I'm hopng to have a few more years of racing still to come.

Great video. I come from a motorcycle track hustory and its crazy how ot sll translates. Threshold raking and bleeding the trail nraing sll the way to the apex and theiugh until youre sttrightining up is INCREDIBLY vital on high power bikes. The chassis hates neutral state and needs the weight on the front snd consistent brakes to keep the nike stable. Cars are the same! Its less dramatic in a car because uts much more grip and youre body isnt hanging to the ground. But seeing this reslly belps because yeb technique translates well

Great video! Looks like his in game wheel rotation was different to his actual wheel rotation can see it at 11:43. Would this negatively affect the driving?
@CoachDaveAcademyАй бұрын
I personally prefer 1:1. I need to ask Laurence if this was a mistake in his calibration as I didn’t see his real life wheel when we were recording. I have mistakenly set my wheel to a similar ratio in the past and only recognised it when I was struggling to stay on track in the F3 😂
@keeef23Ай бұрын
@ yeah I would imagine it would make things super sensitive possibly why he was losing traction on exit thinking the wheel was straighter than it actually was 🤷♂️

Nice video, both nice chaps. I would like to know if Dave have any comments/notice on topic of too much steering angle in some turns performed by Laurence or were all of them done right?
@CoachDaveAcademyАй бұрын
His steering angle wasn’t a problem, it was almost all solved with his braking technique. It almost always starts with corner entry. If you fix your entry then you’ve solved 90% of your problems. ~ Dave

Great analysis, I would add to that by the looks of Laurence brake trace, he has too low brake resistance -> the pedal is too soft. When I coach my team mates, this up and down shapes before trailing off are a result of a too soft pedal that doesn't give enough resistance to lift off the brake reliable. If the brake of the coach is not fixed by 70% max, lots of respect payed for that trail!
@CoachDaveAcademyАй бұрын
Really good point Danny. I’m generally a fan of a softer brake pedal so it never crossed my mind to consider that as advice to smooth out his braking. I need to give it a dry myself as well actually. Coach Danny is doing the next video. ~ Dave

Theres like a 45 degree difference between hardware and sim on the steering angle. You can see it at 3:07 . I guess if he’s used to it 🤷🏻♂️.
@CoachDaveAcademyАй бұрын
Good spot! I wouldn’t have seen that as I didn’t have that camera angle during our call. Still, I’ll ask LD why he sets it like that. I tried that for a while but didn’t like it so much, was too easy for me to go past the slip angle. I’ve no doubt LD has his reasons though. ~ Dave

@ should definitely get that fixed if there’s a part 2! It’s very important for steering in gt3s
@chrisnorrell7489Ай бұрын
Gt3s in iracing are fundamentally wrong. Most irl gt3 drivers are super aggresive with the controls. They are made to be easy to drive irl. Smooth has very little to do with it. Hence the TC and ABS. Never got along with iracing physics
@CoachDaveAcademyАй бұрын
It is true that in iRacing you have to "under drive" the cars compared to real life. But there are still many elements which are accurate. Nevertheless, for GT3's I find the best experience still to be ACC (however v1.9 could do with some updates to the suspension).
