Old video, bad quality but completely underrated training. Very few people would train like this.

Make sure to let them know not to put to much weight forward and backwards whilst executing their punch. It’s really subtle movements. Too much weight forward can take you too much off balance. Off balance or too much weight being distributed can lead to 😪

Years late, but never ever ever do this technique unless you're in a life threatening situation and you WANT to break the attacker's shin. Doing this move places your training partner in an incredibly dangerous situation that could permanently alter their life. Be safe.

That silly technique was featured in a jackie chan movie called the snake and crane shaolin arts from 1978, jackie chan does that trick with a way smaller piece of paper and it's a lot harder.

You will NEVER guess how i found my way here!........ So there I am, watching John Wick (4th one) again...but this time, at home and checking out some of the moves...when i saw this weird thing he did and i thought... Did he do that to pass the guy's legs!!!?!! I hit re-wind, and sure enough, it's a leg extended guard pass!!! So i searched YT...and here I am!!! HAHAHAHA! 1:26:40 <--- BTW, the time in the movie, John does this... It's near the end of his fight with that 'fat bastard-character' kinda guy 😉

thumbs up. although BJJ started MMA essentially its been proven to be less important as time goes on.
@jameztrainwreck2681 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm I actually interpreted the matches n data I have gathered to mean the opposite. Bjj is so important that everyone has to learn it therefor everyone knows how to defend it. Also they changed rules to have refs break more wrestling ground combat as well as changed the scoring system because fans like knockouts more and find striking more exciting...therefor bjj is so important that everyone has to learn it and therefor noone can be that far advanced in it to get the wins easy
@Basta116 ай бұрын
These are just submissions. There's still a lot of BJJ that is important like defense and positioning - sweeps, controls, and so on. The armbar went down because people started not leaving their arms exposed for it. But, I think it makes sense that as you start moving towards purple belt, there is diminishing returns beyond that as far as MMA is concerned. You can be champion with just a Blue belt in BJJ if your other disciplines are on point.

Sorry to be 'that guy', but if you stick your leg in there and he forward rolls then you just put yourself in a very bag leg entanglement
@xnoflow89503 жыл бұрын
this practice/technique is wrong. this drill was created for the one inch punch. punching hand forward, arm bent at a 45 degree angle 6 inches from the target. the goal is not really to go completely through i think, but to just penetrate the paper at first. no step. no follow through. QUICK PULL ON THE PUNCH. its lightning fast and you always end in your original guard/stance. this dude swingin like he on the punch o meter at the bar.

@soyjusthyn78503 жыл бұрын
head movement is small movement.. and the move comes from your legs and not your upperbody, also have in mind that this move should not be your first defensive line since you can get kicked or knee in mma so concentrate on parry or getting the fuck out of range first.. everything said its a nice drill thanks !

Not suppose to follow through that much and youre only tearing it because youre punching down
