I just found your channel after searching for reviews of Chateau Arton Armagnac, and I'm really enjoying your in-depth videos! The American oak aged cane juice rum on your honorable mentions list made me think of something you may be interested in trying. I have a single barrel Clement aged in new american oak, and I've found that it's really spectacular in a tiki cocktail called "Last Rites". Not sure if you're into cocktails at all, but if you are, I'd recommend giving it a try. The recipe is below: 3/4 oz lime juice 1/2 oz passionfruit syrup 1/4 oz falernum 3 oz aged agricole rum shake or blend with crushed ice.

Intrigued by the Raasay. After a semi-disappointing Ardnamurchan AD/, I swore off the new folks until they got a bit more age on them. But this Raasay and the Ardnahoe have remained tempting. Would you say their interest as malts in of themselves makes them worth it? As opposed to their interest in as a chance to try the young distillery?
@differentspirits4157
@differentspirits4157 8 күн бұрын
@@Beezee-ph9wv Yes, I think the two I reviewed are absolutely worth it as malts in themselves, of course bearing price in mind (I got lucky, I think I paid 70€ for the Ardnahoe and 60€ for the Raasay). Ardnamurchan has had a huge amount of hype recently and... I see it and I don't. I can tell the potential is there, but the examples I keep trying are always these very loud, super cask-heavy kinds of efforts that I consistently put in the mid-80s. Whereas what I'd really love to try is an Ardnamurchan at 14 or so in like a third-fill sherry hoggie.

Good stuff, tried most of Roaming Roads lineup tonight and for me the two standouts were the Jamaica 9 Year (which was confirmed by Mike Gilmore, the owner of the brand to be Hampden's <>H mark) along with the Guyana 8 Year which is a total toffee bomb, way more than any other spirit I've ever tried. Definitely in the dessert rum territory, but it's fun and a total left turn from any other Guyanese rum I've ever tried. The Australia was good, though it didn't stick out a whole ton to me compared to other pre-2010 Beenleighs. And then the Venezuela and Belize were both very high quality, just not really my style.
