Do you have to “enable” the repeater channels (holding the minus) with every power cycle you want to use them?

Fortunately and unfortunately I've seen that the price sheets for the BKR9000 are pretty consistent across the board. Sorry about that.

What’s the current price for the earwig device? I believe they are made by Otto for the big M. That was in the catalog back in the 90’s. I am still using my Astro Saber and programming of the Astro is not easy. The CPS for the XTL 5000 is a lot friendlier for programming a radio but you are looking at programming logic from 25 (if not 30) years ago compared to the logic used for the XTL series from the early mid 2000’s.

I’m extremely concerned about Apple’s open AI platform software for upcoming products too. The Unplugged option is definitely of interest. Frankly EVERY US CITIZEN should be able to hit one off switch and no more data collection PERIOD. IF the media companies want access to data mine, then pay everyone of us. Just like a song playing, pay me .. and NOT A PENNY PER INTERACTION. PAY ME JUST LIKE THE BIG BOYS ! Real compensation. They can afford it .. JMO . . On another subject, thank you Mr. Prince ! Do you know how many talkgroups you can scan at one time with the BKR 9000? I've looked everywhere but can't find anything. Thanks.
@AdventureCruiser
@AdventureCruiser 15 күн бұрын
Currently 16 talkgroups, but this radio has a wildcard feature where you program a talkgroup with a value of “0”(wildcard) and it lets all traffic in the entire system through. I typically program an entire zone as a wildcard, and through Radio Reference program the entire list of talkgroups into the radio. I then program a button for nuisance delete.

Is this just a skin on android that doesn’t really do much? I want an actual custom os and hardware with security first and kill switches for the mic, camera and most importantly and what this phone does not have: a kill switch on the gps. And the kill switch has to be on the exterior of the phone like apples silent mode switch. 3 separate switches that physically disconnect the wiring even when the phone is on. (This phone claims to disconnect only when the phone is turned off if it even does that). Unless I’m using the camera or sending a vn the switches stay off. When I need to drive somewhere the gps gets connected. When I pull up it’s off. And the phone should have the option in settings to give you a notification to turn it off when you finish certain tasks in case you forget which will happen over time. A software that actually tells you when apps are tracking you even when you clicked dont track and a way to turn the tracking off on the software end is another great addition to privacy hardware.

@@beaker15tyler39 the screen quality decreased from the APX7000 to the APX8000. I really harshly judge Motorola for this move, the APX7000 is great! Thanks for sharing. My moto rep has been slow to get me some demo units. I honestly don't think the features make much sense for my org, however navigating huge numbers of zones and channels via a screen is pretty nice. Maybe it'd end up being useful as one of our interoperable radios since they can talk to every system in the region and that can be a bit difficult to wrangle as an end user. As expensive as it'd be, it'd also be great as a personal unit for non affiliate scanning.

@@AdventureCruiser Posting this comment from my LEX. Came in this afternoon. It's clearly an older Android device. But, it's still perfectly useable. I am not a power user other than KZbin, Facebook Messenger, and a few other apps. It does all that fine. My priority was the APX RSM/control feature, the hot swappable large batteries, the LOUD volume, and the ruggedness. I haven't swapped my SIM yet. I'll likely release a video on it soon.
