Im swedish and had alot of saabs under my 20 years on the road, around 30 saabs in total 😂 my favourites was the 9000 turbo, 9-5 and 9-3. Just now my daughter did get her first car, a 2009 saab 9-3 vector. Grey. In very good condition. Im happy that she like the brand😉

Enjoyable video. Personally I think the introduction of the 99 EMS and Turbo was the game changer for SAAB. I also liked the 900. Lovely cars. I was at a car show a couple of weeks ago and saw a 9000 (with a boot) and was surprised that people didn't know what it was. Fair enough i accept the young lad may not have been around when it was on the roads but his father would have been. Nice to see your 75 parked outside. Thanks for sharing.👍

it should be a 8mm on the wheelarch and not 10mm unless it difers from the pre facelift

@@SvennsCarchannel strange mine has 2 8mm and 10mm on the top are you sure you are not confusing? also hows the water issue have you seal them already? i finnaly found the last leak, it was from the clutch pedal. do you own a diesel model if not why?

Thank you for putting this up. I am currently in the process of changing all four headlight bulbs on my facelift 2005 Rover 75 CDTi and have been having some strobing issues. I'm using Philips Ulltinon Access LED bulbs. I fitted the H7s and H9s without resistors at first but the main beams strobed about 10 times after the ignition was switched on (lights off)). After I fitted generic resistor kits, all that happened was the dip lights also strobed! So thanks to your other High Beam video, I have ordered the same Philips canbus LED adapters for the H7, and also a set for the H9 bulbs. My question is: how were you able to have the new H9 bulbs working correctly without a canbus adapter? Thanks for your time.

I dont know if they have a built in resistor but they work very well. Only thing that is annoying is that the cooling fans makes som frequency disturbance sound through the speaker system if you have a little volume on your stereo system. And the light output on the high beams isn’t all that great under dark and wet conditions to be honest. I will make a video of this shortly! I’m very happy with the dipped beam but not the high beams. They seem to work optimally only when they have a lot of snow to reflect on😕

Before changing your headlights to leds, just make sure the headlights are sealed and properly waterproof...

It went rather quickly actually! We hadn’t done it on a BMW before but even as a DIY mechanic on the garage floor it took under an hour. Easier than a MB W211 !

Yes it actually is! It har only been started and moved once since 2019 so I think that’s the reason for the noisy tappets.

I don’t recommend using these bulbs. As soon as the road gets wet and dark and snow is melting they are almost useless. It’s like they need light reflecting environments to work properly 😕

@@SmashingPistons yes that is one factor! I will try the ones I have in my ZTT as I remember those seemed quite a bit better. I will make a video about this so people don’t start running out to buy useless bulbs 🤣

Weird sound...fuel pump pulled a vacuum on the tank? Is the tank vent open? If it does it again, pull the filler cap. Would also explain stopping for 'no' reason...

Tried all kinds of led headlights. Always went back to hid's. Almost all led headlights where dimmer then stock halogens

Not these ones. I have hid on my MG ZTT which has precisely the same headlight units . Not much difference I’d say. But I have bought a relatively expensive kit with can-bus adapter. But what kind of car do you have?

@@SvennsCarchannel have a Taurus with the stock projectors. Led sucks man I know everyone hyped em up but nothing compares to proper hid in a projector housing. I've bought cheap led and the most expensive. Returned or just threw em all away.

Seems obvious to check the cylinder compressions while all the spark plugs were out ? HGF always the no.1 suspect on these engines as you know....

Yes i know! I haven’t got a compression tester at the moment. It had the gasket and belt and water pump done by the previous owner about 6 months before it was taken off the road in 2019. It also had a new turbo shortly after as it failed and started pumping the catalyst and exhaust full of oil. So the catalyst and O2 sensor is likely to be defective. But I will make sure the gasket is actually all right. There is by the way no signs of coolant intrusion in to the cylinders.

I know it's a four week old video,but I see white smoke (not blue,indicative of oil).You mentioned smell of coolant,yet,no external leaks,one (#4)sparklug wet(?).What was the coolant level before and after the run?You could be looking at a head gasket.And another thing,is the fuel tank breathing ok?Is there any later video about it?Is there a video about the other cars or you're dedicated to Rovers?Please,forgive this borbardment,I've just found out about your channel today.

Head gasket was done 6 months before it was taken off the road in 2019. But just before it was put away the previous owner took it to vacation from Norway to Denmark where the turbo failed and soaked the catalyst and exhaust with oil. Turbo is replaced but catalyst and o2 sensor is permanently damaged. I have never driven this car and the time it’s running on the video is the only time I’ve seen it running since i bought it. Nothing done since as I don’t have time. Parked up in storage until spring arrives. Then I will get more in to it and start the “restoration”!

Thank you 🙏 It is difficult to secure properly without taking it apart but I managed to place it so it stays relatively securely under the lens without interfering the hight adjustment.

@@CUSTODIAN70 no it doesn’t do much in heavy snow fall. Yellow light is better for contrast in snowfall. Especially high beam. But on wet dark roads it helps very much.

I see Huzzly Bear has standard reflectors and then you have to buy kit with D2R bulbs. That’s the only xenon bulb developed for that type of headlamp where the reflector or glass makes the beam pattern . With a D2S bulb you will get totally wrong pattern and not a good light output and you will blind oncoming traffic!

I installed Philips Ultinon Pro 9100 H4 bulbs on my parents' Saab 9-3 (the older generation from 1998 to 2003) and they work great. Excellent beam pattern.

No i won’t go down that road🙈I will give it a proper service and engine flush and see if it’s just condensation. Head gasket and belt and water pump and it has a new turbocharger the same year it was put in storage. Has only done a few thousand kilometers before storage. The previous owner told me the catalyst was soaked in oil when the turbo failed. So it might be some oil residue in there. If I have to replace the gasket I’m not bothered by that ☺️

@@SvennsCarchannel I didn't think you would for one minute. I've used k seal once in a rover 25 k series, but only out of desperation to get to my work place , it did work well for 40k until I sold it .

It's called a combination stripping/crimping tool...might be better to add a few centimetres of cable when doing this, so it can't pull loose/break wires. Be doing mine soon...
