Lol, Robbie Cumming the canal, dirty boy, tricky name, lol, first time watching these Vlogs about Narrowboats that you get a good idea of being a single boater, I would love to do it one day, waiting from the stars to align, being an Englishman owning running a restaurant in Mexico, could be awhile, designed my layout already.......

I've taken the train from Sheffield to St Pancras loads recently, and love spotting the canals from the train on the way down. Really enjoyed hearing the "how to" today on locks btw, I'd love more of that on CBD and vids. 😊

Hi Robbie. What do you think about the proposed Grand Union and The Great River Ouse canal from Milton Keynes to Kempston if and when it gets built? Also would you take a trip on it? I know I will as I've a moored cruiser in Bedford.

Hey Robbie, years ago in the nineties we did a job connected with the Comedy Store at the lock. We brought a horse drawn hearse with a Spitting Image type replica of Bernard Manning in the back. Drove right through Camden high street to the lock with a young Graham Norton following dressed as Mother Theresa in tea towels. The 'comedians' took the coffin down to the canal, then the old bill turned up and we made our excuses and high tailed it out of there.

On the left as you leave the lock the old Gilbeys Gin Warehouse on the right the interchange warehouse, with Dead Dog Tunnel beneath. On the left in the old Gilbeys building are the remains of an ice well, when ice was imported from Norway and brought up from the docks along the canal. It was then distributed throughout London before the days of refrigeration. Great video, thanks for sharing

if you’d started the stream about two hundred yards before you did I’d have been able to see the back of the house I lived in back in the Nineties! Haven’t been back since 2003 and you’re right, the new buildings along the side of the towpath are v impressive. Writing this at 14.33 and you’re just approaching the lock I was sitting on when I proposed to my girlfriend. Memories!😊
