We love all the trials tribulations and coal dust we first saw on your videos💪 After we bought the boat from whilton we moored on the same spot at bridge 87 on the Oxford 👍

Great to see you back Robbie, lovely day and a wonderful area on the network. Section near where you moored, by bridge.....a few years ago I was involved in the rescue of a calf which had entered the water, and did not know how to get out. Boaters all helping, ropes, folk in water, queues of boats both ways. Eventually we landed the exhausted youngster. Meanwhile, Mum, who was calling for her youngster, was out of eyesight (the field was raised with the natural curve of land and canal) and then had to be ushered across the field to be reunited with her babe. Thanks for some super views, and a personal comment on Braunston village, a great place.

The grate in the wall of the church leads to a natural spring. Normally springs by churches are holy Wells but this one isn't for some reason. My family are an old boatman family and many were christened at the cathedral of the canals. Great meeting you at the pub the other day.

I kept my first boat at Braunston when you could moor just past the lockhouse if you where reasonable. narrowboat Raymond was moored outside the lockhouse and Arthur Bray and his wife were still in residence. He kept an eye on my boat for me. This was in 1972 I think. .

I remember seeing Arthur outside Poacher when it was moored there. That would have been mid 90s. Felt really privileged to have met him. A few years later we were wanting a bigger boat and discovered Poacher was for sale. We bought her and spent the next few years living on her. We loved that boat. The shed next to the Stop House was called "Poachers Shed". We took Poacher through Braunston in 2003 and moored at their old spot for an hour. Rosemary came down to see her.. Happy times.

Good to see you back - used to play that version of skittles at the Anchour in Warmington, near Banbury so seems like it's not just a Northampton only game. They also sold the best Barley Wine ... rocket fuel!! ... back in the 70's.. bet its changed now though.

Thanks for the video, long time no see! Being in the US, I can't see the TV stuff, so very glad you've posted a new one on KZbin. Braunston looks like a great place to be, and thank goodness you found the right sort of Pub 🍻 😁. Kind of nice not knowing where you're going next. Even better that you can take your home right along with you as you go. Congratulations and well done on your very first CD. You're talented and it should sell well 👍. I can't cruise the canals, but I definitely feel a massive road trip coming on. I've driven around most of the US with my dogs. Haven't really explored the northeast though, so may have to Head East. 🎶

I was at crick boat show in 2018, and we were staying near Braunston. The Nelson pub was really really busy, but I liked that you could literally sit out at the canal and gongoozle with a pint. Had some Sunday roast too. Walking along the canal was nice too and around Braunston Marina, It's nice to be brought back there in full HD 😂 The church really stood out, it felt very iron working canal boating kind of place.

Great video, and excellent quality photography, good to see you back. Braunstone is a wonderful place; shame the Admiral Nelson has been so gentrified, but good to see it open again. It used to play a significant role in the life of the canals. Morton used its public bar as an office to schedule boats and loads in the old canal carrying company days. In the evenings, boat crews would get out their squeeze boxes, sing, drink and make merry before setting off at dawn on the next voyage. Look forward to your next video, Regards, PMh

When you described how you made your music, it made me think Herrrrrrrrrrrre’s “Robbie, the UK canals answer to Tash Saltana” Take it away Robbie. If you’re interested, watch her very early videos, when she’s making music at home in her bedroom still and hasn’t done a world tour......yet. Anyway, maybe you’ll understand what I mean. The way Tash plays, loops, plays again, loops again and again and again is flipping amazing to watch. Layer upon layer upon layer ❤ of wonderful music. That’s how I imagine you might make your music. Playing and flipping switches and pressing pedals etcetera. Thanks for sharing this video and congrats’ on the music - exciting times indeed. 🐿🙂🌈❤️

Great video, There is a plaque on the marina bridge in Braunston dedicated to Rose & Bill Whitlock my grandparents. (along with Laura Carter) who worked the narrowboats right up until the commercial end. Renfrew was one of the boats they use to have. After they stopped working they lived on 'Lucy' just outside the marina bridge until they eventually moved on land. (Laura still lives in the village) They are buried there along with many other boating people. It is a natural spring in the boundary wall of the church.

Welcome back. You have been missed. Very much looking forward to the new series of Canal Boat Diaries. I was beginning to regret having binge watched your KZbin back catalogue last year. I must have watched several years of content in a matter of weeks, and then all of a sudden I had caught up and was on meagre rations. Good to see you back and the music and scenery has me nice and relaxed now. Will definitely be buying the CD. Keep on cranking out those videos.

You've turned a wet, windy and miserable day in to something a whole lot better. I was at The Admiral for my landmark birthday last week.Great pub and excellent food. The Wheatsheaf is also good and, as you say, more of a villagers local. Gomgoozlers Rest do a cracking breakfast. The church spire was used by the canal construction company as a marker to make sure Braunston tunnel was straight and true.
