Renegade Shepard in the first game is far better than in the later games. In them it way too over the top or just plain dumb. It also means more in this game as you can tell people to f*** off but in Mass Effect 2 and 3 you're shepherd around by everyone and can't say no. Player agency is a non factor in those games. Say the choice at the end of Mass Effect 2 the renegade option makes more sense but Cerberus is so incompetent and cartonishly evil that option isn't a option. There really should be a option to secure the base for the Alliance. Its really what Mass Effect 2 should have been about instead of the boring ass Collecters.

I remember I was renegade my first play through in ME1 and I was an ass to Ashley. Kinda funny I ended up romancing her.

This "romance" is so weird, they just keep insulting each other and then are like "Well okay let's fuck cause we've got nothing to do tonight"... out of all the possible ME1 options I honestly think female shepard and Kaidan is the sweetest and most heartwarming out of all romances, because it's not "I'm so jealous" like Ashley or "I wanna study you" like Liara, instead Kaidan sincerely falls in love with Shepard step by step but still tries to seperate his feelings from his duties as a soldier...

I usually go renegade when it’s funny or having no long lasting consequences. If you go full renegade it just makes Shepard look like a running away psychopath - which is still hilarious but too much for my conscious 😂
