Want an S CLASS Freighter in No Man's Sky? This is a complete and easy to understand guide on how to obtain some of the best S CLASS Freighters in No Man's Sky Beyond. Tip: if you use your analysis visor while inside the freighter you can check it’s class and how many slots it has without having to waste time going to the captain. Hope it helps!

Thanks! Once you get in the freighter, you can user your visor/scanner (as if you were scanning flora/fauna) and it will tell you what class it is. That way you don't need to go talk to the Captain.

I got so frickin' lucky I found a max length Venator model black and white freighter. I was looking for that but as a Sentinel model instead. I was in the midst of hunting and just decided to do the battle and check the class for fun. It just so happened to be S-class. I was so happy and bought it immediately.

@Spencer Greer I had almost the same situation on my two survival saves. On the first one, I had reloaded 60 times for a S-class sentinel model, decided to give up, warp to a system with a Resurgent model and just happened to be an S-class. On my second new survival save, I didn’t have any dreadnought-class sentinel freighters within warp range, so I went to a system with a Resurgent-class model, reloaded for about five minutes and got another S-class freighter with the new Desolation stats. Throughout my gameplay of this game, all of my luck seems to be with the Star Destroyers lol.

Great video! One advice 1: Find a star system with a freighter you like. 2: Place a custom marker. 3: Do not warp yet, but land back on the planet you just took off. 4: Put down a save point and save. 5: Now it'll be easier to locate the star system because of the custom marker.

@@cornyfields3381 Make your save before every warp. when you can warp to any system and still get a freighter encounter (has to be rescue) you did it right. You have to play for 3 hours and had previous warps (4 or 5 I think???) I don't have alot of data, but I did get an S class after 4 tries so I know this works.

On a star system just before the warp to your favourite freighter battle, make a base with a memorable name. Now you can do nexus missions (whilst on nexus missions you won't do freighter battles). Now all you have to do is go to the big warp room and warp to your memorable base and carry on with freighter hunt.

So let's say I played the game for over 3 hours but haven't gotten my free one yet. If I get it now at the end of this 3hr run, do I then have to wait another 3 hours before warping 5 times again? Edit: I went to get the free one but the "Freighter Rescue" mission wouldn't pop up so I boarded it anyway but it only gives me the option to buy it even though I just saved it from pirates and I've never come across a freighter in this save before this one. It’s the 5th jump in series. You have to keep jumping around until you get the combat spawn in the correct system. So quick save at a station, jump a bunch of times until you know which count spawns the combat, then reload. Jump one short of what's needed. Autosave in that systems station, then start jumping into the desired system. Voila!

only items that transfer are in the freigter's inventory. If you have placed any base building items e.g 'Fleet Command Room' they will be removed and have to be replaced in the new freighter

I'm playing on a ps4, using a saved 5th warp freighter rescue mission (my free first freighter rescue mission. I never got one on my 3rd warp) I've chased down every high-end system within my range numerous times and apparently, regardless of freighter style or class (C thru S) the highest max slots I can get is 19-4. Ok my question is this. I found a spot where when I warp into it it is the type of ship I want but not a capital ship big one like this. It's a small one. Can I keep warping to that system and it has a chance of being a big one like this, or will the ship size always be the same but the class is different?

From what I can tell it will spawn that exact style but the class will change. If you want the biggest version, you have to locate a system that spawns it. Side not...the size of the ship doesn't effect anything. All that matters is getting a 34 slot S class functionality wise. Its very annoying as its hard to know if you found the largest ship since it doesn't say

Pro Tip: You do NOT have to go to the bridge to find out the class and slots of a freighter. As soon as you exit your starship, simply use your MT to scan the forward bulkhead right in front of you.

BTW, i finally snagged one of the newer post-desolation freighters. Warp range maxed out at 6392.5 ly (I think its core range was 180.9 when I acquired it).

Another pro tip: if you go straight for the space station and leave the ship (auto save), you won't need to keep warping to the system: just reload the autosave, and go fight ^^ (can't engage anything, just go straight for the space ship)

I tried to hunt for a Dreadnought-class Sentinel Freighter, but there were no such freighters in the tier 3 economies within my warp range, so I warped to a system with a Resurgent-class star destroyer, and got an S-class within 5 minutes for free as I was on a new survival save. A similar thing happened on my previous survival save where I reloaded almost 60 times for a dreadnought sentinel model, gave up and went to a system with the resurgent model, only to find an S-class. I’ve never had any luck with the Sentinel models...

For anyone who's worried that if you have less than 8 enemy ships to fight, an s class will never spawn, I want to clarify that it will but it could take a serious amount of attempts! I had 5 enemy ships every time and it probably took me around 200 reloads until I finally spawned the s class freighter at the start of this video with 21 tanks in a row across the bottom. So relieved. The grind is real!!! Good luck!

I spent about 5 hours getting my 34-9 slot S-class venator in red and black about 2 weeks ago. Last night I ran across a gold colored, S-class (34-9) sentinel with a random jump into a system! It was sweet but I prefer the venator, especially in the red and black. Unless I find an S-class Enterprise class I don't see myself changing. Btw, does anyone know why we can't upgrade storage on freighters and the max is 34 out of 48 slots?

With the desolation patch, S-class freighters (and I mean it, only S-class) can be upgraded to 48+21. A-class and below have different limits to what you can upgrade to. You upgrade them with bulkheads, obtainable from derelict freighters btw,

My S-class freighter is now maxed out, I have a base built on it, have all my specialists stations on the bridge, a farm built on it, and a maxed out frigate fleet (all 30 maxed out to S class). However with the bonuses from the new frigate modules in the freighter I can send out 2 or three ships and max out the specialties needed!

I will keep my A class for the time being it is a 34/9 slot which is a battleship class and only has 5 sections though it has rectangle pods and it is medium blue, I found it in Elkupalos! I have a picture up on my steam, though the angle isn't good but it came from a Tier 3 system. I have found quite a bit of exotics and one trick to finding them since this update is when you warp only tier 3 systems and have a freighter rescue, go collect a reward, inspect the freighter or buy it if you want. Then hit the station, just sit in there a few minutes do not reload an Exotic will show up, usually it is within 2 to 3 minutes max! You can go collect nanites and check the atlas pass room but you will hear the landing gear extend since Exotics always have noisy gear. Give it a try, I have found white and gold guppy's with side engines, red ones with little wing tips and long back, mosquito's with side engines or wing tips, flip wings of several different colors and varying trim colors. I buy them and scrap them, I already have 3 that are 48/21 and fully loaded, living ship and my original choice an explorer that I replaced the horrible starter ship with, which was an A class but it;s now S class and 48/21 as well! Though I did just find a system with a Squid and Mosquito in it, I may upload some picks and portal address at portal repository.

The first free freighter you get is a non-capital ship (smaller freighter). After you accept your first free freighter then the capital (bigger) freighters will spawn. Hope this answers your question.

The type of freighter is unique to each system meaning it will always spawn the exact same freighter, the only thing that changes is the rarity of it.

You dont have to go all the way to the commander of the ship to find out the class just fly in the docking bay, get out of ship and use your scanner on the ceiling of the freighter and it will tell you the class and slot amount. It makes this process so much faster.

Yes, it will. Anything that takes you to the pause menu will temporarily stop the timer but once you put new batteries in, it will start back up wherever it was. I don't personally play NMS on Console but I know that the inventory menu doesn't stop the timer so if the controller disconnecting doesn't take you out of the inventory to bring you to the pause menu, this issue could be avoided by just leaving it on the inventory whenever you are AFK.

The 3 hour timer is cumulative though, you don't have to wait the 3 hours in one go. You can play one hour one day, one hour the next, and so on

With the new origins update, go to the nearest space station and buy all the pungnem, from the station and the starships. Get like 4-5 stacks. buy from the space scraper, go to ship, get out of ship and reload. And buy from the scraper again until your inventory is full. Then sell it to the people where you can buy upgrade modules. 10k nanites right there.

Found a C class at first then found a B easy. Method for the B class was when you are under attack, flee to the nearest planet. Then there is a high chance a freighter spawns nearby. Edit: Found an A class.

I settled for an A class 33 slot originally, then last night I got an S class 34 slot massive one. Definitely go for that, it's way cooler.

You need to accept the first free freighter, once you get that then the capital freighters will spawn.

I don’t know for sure if this applied 1 month ago, but as of 2.61, you don’t need to accept the free freighter, you can accept payment instead and wait three hours, go to a tier 2 or 3 economy and get a free S class capital freighter for free.

How come I’m not getting these type of ships? All I come across is the regular boring type of freighters the ones you find in every system by just flying around. I’ve reloaded about 30 times already, visiting a different system every time Edit: I am suing the economy scanner to only go to wealthy systems

yeah it's all down to RNG unfortunately, I would suggest maybe moving on to another system that has a good economy and use the save / reload method. Goodluck!

should try sticking to the same system too once you find the design you want. No point changing systems if it's not getting you anywhere. Took me 7 tries to get my sentinel dreadnought in a decent colour. Just roll the dice and stick to the same system

The Furious High Bishop yeah the problem is that I wouldn’t get anything but the Cuboid cargo style freighters and not the big capital ones. I read somewhere that those don’t spawn the first time around and you have to beat the hardwired first mission. Rn I’m in the process of trying to spawn in a second mission

I don’t know if this will be read or anything but I’m playing on Xbox and I’ve done all the things I need to do to get the Capital Ships to spawn (I even have the free ship you get) but whenever I warp to a 3 star economy it won’t even give me a save freighter mission Edit- never mind after I warped 7 more times, now they are spawning

I don't know if they changed it, but it seems that it's always the exact same freighter per system. I've been reloading and warping to the same system for like an hour and it's always a B class. I tried with another one, and same thing, it's always an A class. Same model, same class, even the same colors every time.

Cheap Tactics they did change it, you have to collect your free one before the Dreadnaughts spawn

@@chronicandironic8701 what? I don't think you understood what I said. Reloading and warping to the same system hoping to get an S class doesn't work. It's always the same freighter. Class, model and stats. Exactly the same, every time. So if you're looking for an S class and you didn't get it in a system, you have to go to another or that system will always spawn the freighter with the same class

I have a question. I found a system through reddit that has the exact ship design I want. How do I go about spawning the battle? Once I portal there, will the conflict still happen, or will I need to warp out and then back in for it to start? If I warp out, won't it start the conflict in the neighboring system I just jumped to? If so, can I wait another 3 hours/5 warps and jump back to that original system? How does sharing freighter coordinates work if you need to jump into the system rather than using the portal?

it's RNG, meaning different types of capital freighters spawn in every system. You just need to keep searching to find the freighter you want.

@@HundarGamings 3 star economy's have a better chance of spawning s-class freighters, however the same 'TYPE' of freighter will always spawn in the same system. Try warping to another system that has a good 3 star economy and a different type of freighter should spawn there.

J5 yea that’s what I was doing warping to multiple 3 Star economy systems. I think I went to at least 4 or 5.Kept getting the lower tier freighters guess I’m just really unlucky. I played for 3 hours and had warped 5 times to get the event.

Thanks for the video. By the way you don't need to talk to the captain to check the class of the freighter. Once you are aboard Freighter your Analyse Visor can show you the class of the ship.

Chances are nobody will see this comment, but you don't have to go to the captain to check class and capacity. Just open your scanner after getting out of the starship and you'll get the info displayed.

Save time by just looking through your visor as soon as you dock on the freighter. It shows the class so you don't have to run upstairs and waste time with dialogue and inspection.

I was warping for over an hour to a wealthy system with high pirate activity, had always 8 enemy ships to defeat but no S-Class freighter so far, someone said in the comments in a different video that you need 8 enemy ships to spawn a s-class freighter

this is insanely tedious and grindy, they should fucking add a way to scope out a ship from a distance to see if its worth the trouble or not at the VERY LEAST, 24H of grinding, not a single S class, i think iv already past the 100 reloads mark
