Okay so let me share my advice , since this is where I can free my mind , I suggest you weigh yourself first , Then , put a number of dumbbells or Weights in a plastic bag, and Then see how much air it takes to lift off, JUST ENOUGH, to float in air for about 3 -4 seconds to be safe , because once you figure out the amount of air you need , I want you to imagine taking ALL THE BALLOONS you tied to the plastic bag with your body weight on it , and make a copy cat of the visual mass , Of the Balloons it took to lift them. I think this is the Catalyst into making this work , and I also believe you might look like a peacock 🦚 when you make your invention, idk if that would spark somebody’s imagination✨✨, but THIS IS MY INPUT , GOODLUCKKKK. 😃😁 🎈 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽

since the 70ies people fly with hang-gliders, like birds! Not sure about this "sky-bike" but I didn't see much flying there. If you want to feel like a bird, learn hang-gliding. Lots of schools all over the world.

Add a longer boom to the tail so that there is more leverage on its affect in stabilizing your pitch also maybe use a rc flight controller with built in gyo stabilization just to control pitch at the tail everything else will be controlled at the wings by your arms but u can use car window motors as a powerful and cheap servo to control the tail

I support your idea i think its cool. Just think of maybe a redundancy for the wings so that if you hit a big gust of wind the wings don't pull back past ehat your rotator cuffs in your shoulders can take plus it may add stability so that you have more surface area for lift and dont drop out of the air like a rock if your flying

@@GregoryWingmasterHello! Please try modeling a suit off something big and heavy like a quetzalcoatlus! They are huge prehistoric reptiles the size of a giraffe that were able to fly! They were likely very poor at take off, much like albatross, but would leap up off the ground with their strong legs to fly.
@CuervoRC
@CuervoRC Жыл бұрын
Some time ago I did the calculations and a paraglider needs about 7 HP to fly. This ornithopter is heavier, less aerodynamic, and with very little wing area. A human at most produces 0.8hp , and for a few seconds, It is impossible for it to fly.
@GregoryWingmaster
@GregoryWingmaster Жыл бұрын
I beg to differ, a number of your assumptions in your flight performance calculations are clearly very different to mine. Like Coeff. of drag for skybike vs paraglider. (strings create a LOT of drag)
@CuervoRC
@CuervoRC Жыл бұрын
@@GregoryWingmaster I have not really taken into account the drag to make the calculation of energy consumption, only the meters of height lost every second to maintain the proper speed for flight. With the height you lose every second and the weight of the aircraft, you can calculate the energy you need every second and then get the power. An ultra-efficient glider that loses the same altitude every second but moves forward more, is more efficient, but if it weighs the same it would need the same power to fly.
@CuervoRC
@CuervoRC Жыл бұрын
@@GregoryWingmaster You can calculate the power your aircraft needs to fly. Look for a slope and make glides, see how long it takes to descend and with the weight you can calculate the power, calculate the potential energy you have spent, for example 5 meters of difference in altitude and 100kg. and based on the time it took to lose those 5 meters you can calculate the power. when you start flapping the efficiency will probably drop. But at least you have a reference.
@GregoryWingmaster
@GregoryWingmaster Жыл бұрын
you do make good points and there are indeed still some things to be discovered. Bear in mind that human powered flight has been around since the sixties Gossamer Albertross by Paul McCready. So we know that a human is powerful enough. We also know that flapping is a more efficient propulsion method than a propeller.
@CuervoRC
@CuervoRC Жыл бұрын
@@GregoryWingmaster Small scale flapping is more efficient, but you know that aerodynamics don't scale well. All the large scale ornithopters I have seen did not perform well compared to propellers. in fact a human powered ornithopter was made and it only managed to maintain altitude for a few meters but did not maintain flight. Another experiment I think that you can do, is to mount the aircraft on a bike and see if on flat terrain you are able to maintain the 30 kmh needed to fly with those wings. The bike chain is more efficient than any propeller or flapping. And so you would have a rough reference of how much force you would need to counteract the drag of the aircraft. Best of luck, I subscribe to follow your progress.
