Hi. I enjoyed your video about the Antigua beaches. My hubby and I are heading for the first time to Antigua for our winter escape January 2025. We will be there a month so will have a lot of time to explore all these beaches. :) I have a question though. It seems like the chair/umbrella rentals are quite common. I would love to have that luxury but for a month, that would not be cost effective for us. We are going to have bag chairs plus an umbrella. Will we have any trouble entering any beach and just finding a spot to set up? In other words will we be bothered by those who are renting the chairs/umbrellas? I do understand that all beaches are public but I hope we can go to any beach and set ourselves up for the day. I know you clearly like the more deserted beaches and I do understand that. Since we are a senior couple, we enjoy the free entertainment of people watching. 🤣🤣 Thank you.

@@user-ux7wp4mv1u thanks you so much for watching the video ! We are really glad you enjoyed it ! That’s why we make this videos in hopes that they will be helpful ! No you will be totally fine ! The beaches are public. We had our own beach blanket that folded up into the size of your palm and took that to most all the beaches we went to. It’s not frowned upon at all. We always take that with us every island we go, as paying can get quite expensive. You will love Antigua ! We can’t wait to go back some day.

Overall the weather was fine! Besides this day, we only had a little bit of rain, most days were sunny. We definitely had the worst weather in Moorea, which sucked. But we recommend taking a rain jacket at this time of year.

Sorry, but you lost all credibility when you said Sandals basically has 3 types of rooms. There are like 15-18 room choices at Sandals Negril alone, which I was hoping this video would help us make a decision on. Totally unhelpful there. We’ve stayed a several Sandals and Secrets. Secrets is more modern with generally bigger rooms. Depending on when the Sandals resort was built, you could get a very tiny, dated room for a much bigger expense. At least Secrets has made deciding on the room type less complicated. Sandals has made that so complicated at a lot of their resorts.
@FittwotravelАй бұрын
Sorry to have lost credibility with you Karen. But you lost it with us when you couldn’t tell us whether it was 15, 16, 17, or 18 different types of rooms…

For what it's worth: I love your chitty chatty. Your description of the current pulling you along while you are snorkeling, made me think of Taha'a French Polynesia. Have you ever heard about or visited Taha'a? I have not visited, but have read about it, and desperately want to go there. Supposedly it has what they call a Coral Garden, and the current pulls you along similar to as you described the Rainbow Reef doing. Taha'a is also known for its rum, and for producing vanilla... in fact, they say the air smells like vanilla. Can you imagine? Also, Taha'a is the sister island of Raiatea, which is not far and directly South.

We’re actually heading back to French Polynesia later this year, and hope to visit Taha’a! So we’d love to experience the snorkeling there!

@Fittwotravel3 ай бұрын
You can do it there, but there is limited availability on the planes so I would recommend doing it beforehand. Depending on the islands, there are certain days they fly. You can look online and find the days they fly. If you have trouble, email them and they can help you plan it out!

This was super helpful you two! We are like you and like a quiet/secluded beach. We just returned from Grand Anse/Spice Island Resort Grenada and were super impressed. Which resort would you recommend on the west coast of Antigua for the best swimming and smallest crowds? CoCoBay looks nice, but will I be decapitated by jet skis?
@Fittwotravel4 ай бұрын
We’d love to visit Grenada- it’s in our list! We’ve Heard great things about cocobay, and that beach is beautiful! We missed the busy part of the day there, but we saw a lot of people (assuming cruisers) going back when we arrived so I assume it gets busy and noisy with jet skis. You might look into Keyonna on Turner beach, or even hawksbill resort or gallery bay resort, which are more tucked away. Although I know very little about the resorts themselves. The beaches are wonderful though, all of them!

What kind of food is allowed to travel in with from US? Our flight gets in really late & I have food issues. But it doesn’t sound like there is much we can bring in?
@Fittwotravel5 ай бұрын
From our understanding, you can bring things that are packaged, so like protein bars, jerky, canned tuna… You can’t bring like fresh meat or home cooked meals. I think as long as it’s in its original container and sealed, it shouldn’t be a problem.
