Couple of tips: Show up about an hr before sail time and if you can, carry your bags with you. If you pull your own luggage, your room will be ready and you will have your luggage with you. Why wait in line for 2 hrs, just plan to arrive a little later and you get right on with luggage. You miss out on a few hrs of the onboard stuff...food, pool etc. but no waiting and you have your stuff with you! Same with disembarking...pull you luggage and try to get off at 7am if you can and be on your way...

Thanks for the tips! That would give me anxiety waiting that close to boarding time, but I know others would love that! We did take our luggage with us for disembarkment and it was great- very fast! Thanks for watching!

We’ll be going out of Seattle in September. Compared to Miami, Galveston and just now, San Francisco, Seattle looks like a dumpster fire! No porters to grab your bags right away!? Waiting hours in line as opposed to around 30 minutes!? What a mess. I guess I’ll experience it first hand.

Yes there were people there to take your checked bags right away. But we have carry on bags also. And I can see how it might look like a dumpster fire but this was during Covid when they had extra measures, they had to check vaccinations and other things so it made the process longer. And each state has different rules when it comes to embarkation. But this is our first experience going out of seattle, and hopefully things are faster and better now. Have fun on your cruise !

I have only cruised out of Seattle once and it was with NCL on Pier 66. I’ll have to admit your embarkation checkin process seemed to be a whole lot longer than the NCL process. I plan on cruising with RC next year and this video makes me dreading the checkin process now.

Yeah a few people have said that in our comment section. But mind you this is during Covid, or atleast when Covid stuff is still being checked. So they had extra measures to get on. It could be different in different states. But good luck, hopefully yours doesn’t take as long as ours

@@Fittwotravel When we boarded this past June NCL was not requiring proof of any kind of Covid test. I’m surprised RC still requiring it now. Then again, I’m not sure how long ago NCL stop requiring Covid testing.

Thank you for the subscription ! And thanks for the kind words ! We make all of our videos with that specific intention is to be as informative as we can ! As far as where to stay, we actually are from Portland, so we don’t know too much about Seattle, we drove up the morning of. But if you’ve never been to seattle we would suggest staying somewhere in downtown Seattle or close to pike place, so you can experience as much of seattle as possible. Hope that helps

Thanks for watching the video ! We tried to be as detailed as possible. We’ve embarked on Ft. Lauderdale, Puerto Rico and seattle, and to be honest, even though it was really busy in seattle, the process seemed to run smoothly. Just a lot of people and lots of switchbacks while moving in line. They still had a lot of “Covid” protocols then so that might have had something to do with the lines. Hopefully you have a good experience next time you embark there !

Before you show meeting up with your mom there was a large area with many chairs. Why would people sit there? Are there places to sit as you go along? I'm asking because one in our party might have some trouble walking and I wonder if she can sit while we switchback through the line and she can join us when we get to the end of the line.

There aren’t a lot of seats throughout the security process. Those seats you see are after you go through security and waiting. I would probably have her ask for assistance, because it can take an hour or longer to get though all the switchbacks and security!

Do they check Visa as well or check passports for your identity? Asking this because I am on a working Visa and need to know if they want a visa stamped while embarking to ship.

Sorry we can’t give you a definite answer on that as we are US citizens and aren’t required a visa. But if I had to guess I don’t think they would check your visa. But don’t quote us on that. I would suggest reaching out to the cruise line. Sorry we couldn’t be more helpful

Yes, they have stations set up before you get in line and they’ll take your luggage

Thank you for the detailed breakdown! We will be embarking on the Quantum of the Seas on 8/22. Does the cruise line do your Covid testing, or do we need to get it done on our own prior? I’ve never had to be tested so don’t know where to go. Thank you.

Have fun! It’s such a great cruise! You will have to do the testing before hand. Up to 2 days before you leave. You can go to Walgreens or order a proctored Covid test like emed Covid test. The Royal Caribbean site has a ton of info on testing and where to go! We just did ours through Walgreens

We booked pretty last minute, we booked less than a month before our cruise left. So if you’re flexible, booking last minute or way in advance is the best time for saving money on the cruise

Does the air conditioning work in the rooms or do they shut it off?

Air conditioning works in the room, but you have to put your room key (or another card) in the slot to keep it on

Is there a separate queue for Suite guests at the Seattle terminal?

From what we remember we did not see any special lines or signs indicating special lines. Everyone seemed to be in one very long line lol

yes Suite guests have a different line/entrance. You just have to ask where. You dont have to wait in the long lines.
