It feels like the PicoNav situation fell into the trap of being a hobby that got turned into work, at a time when your primary work completely absorbed your life. Breaking it up into chunks definitely feels like it would make things easier with more small victories instead of plugging at a bigger chunk with no victories to push things forward.

Thanks for the update, Vince. I hope this new system serves you well. I've been working in management for a long time now and I kept swapping systems all the time for similar reasons. Now, I'm not saying the case is the same with you, but in reality, I just needed to learn how to rest. You know, with effort: just intentionally sit down for a moment, to reset, to do something fun for a bit (and for yourself) and then move on. It always seemed like I had no time for that, but in reality even 15 minutes of reading or two matches in MTG: Arena can get my brain back on track. I have to force myself to do it a lot of times, but it's working. Pro tip: doing things that physically involve your hand-eye coordination help out diminish that burnout really good. I still struggle from time to time, but ever since I did that, it's been a lot more stable with me. In any case, I hope it gets to be with you too, because some of the things you've said hit close to home and I remember how awful it all feels. That said, I recommend calling back to Lean principles. I mean, the Pico doesn't need to be perfect on launch. Almost no product is perfect, especially on the software front. If I'm not mistaken, you can push updates to it later down the line? If that's the case, maybe settle on some core functions for launch and then spread out everything else as updates or even expansions. Just an idea. All the best!

Damn, you really had a Stu at 3AM moment, which is totally understandable. Balancing life and work, with hobbies and more work is hard. It's HARD, and you know things are getting rough when you start chasing rank just for that sense of tracked accomplishment. So I'm glad you're able and healthy, and were able to start sorting things out! Definitely gotta take a look at Notion myself for my own projects and personal endeavours. And it's super cool to hear you're a Gigantic fan as well! I gotta get back into it one of these and start maining Ramsay again. Keep up the good work man.

The vital pet was awesome, but the b button on ALL versions of the vital bracelet is terrible and breaks constantly. I was thinking what would brace it a little, so all that holding b to quit/run would put less stress on it

Update dayy!!!!! Regarding the VitalPet issue. Would it be possible to built out a DIY kit instead? Its already self assembly. Might clear up need/availability if you just say "some sanding & gluing required". Food for thought, i suppose. I can totally relate to the feeling of "after work, no more work" energy you are communicating. I have a rather physical+technical career, so getting home late and wanting nothing beyond total rest is something i completely understand dood. We fully recognize that life can get busy are tiring. If nothing else, at least know that you have a supportive and excited community backing you.

Weird question since I think the BE its on its way out, but could we make the device even slimmer? When looking at it from the side, I noticed that the fram that holds the screen is what gives the device a bit more thickness. I was wondering if maybe printing a smaller spacer could save a few millimeters, that coupled with a new housing to accommodate for the "new" space could probably shave off a few more millimeters. Could this theoritically be possible? I thought that even removing that spacer all together might work too, but then again there could be some short circuit whne the screen is that close to the pcb. Also note that 1 foiler will foil all the printed versions you have at that card and commonality. So 1 foiler will allow you to print 1, 3,5 or twenty foil copies of the card. You might only own one on the site, but you can print multiples for your kitchen table decks.

Nice overview! A little question answering~ Re: print frequency - certain alt art promos will have that once per time frame print restriction on them, but for general cards it's unlimited. So these alts will have some loose "collector" value for people who want cool exclusive-ish things, but not for hardcore "I want serialized 1 of X cards" types. Re: LGS singles, it's definitely weird. I know a couple of the biggest LGSes in the US are super high on Altered, so if nothing else stores at their scale are excited about what they can do. For instance, they can mass print and sell physical cards for cheap but at a profit, whether to casuals or to people who don't want to wait for cards they digitally ordered to ship, etc. Where does the mom and pop comic book shack fit on this? Hard to know, but they probably never did singles for not-big3 games anyway, so it's probably no different from your OP or SWU or Lorcana or whatever. Re: Lyra, dice rolling isn't the whooole faction, but it's certainly one of the hero themes and the one in that starter deck. It for sure has its appeal, I've run a couple demos and you get a lot of people whose eyes light up when they see a chaotic gremlin energy deck. Anyhow, we recently saw another Lyra hero that's random in a different way, trading some control for net card advantage, and we expect a theme around 0-stat characters based on some of the faction shift cards we've seen.
