Yeah I think they've made a dud here, doesn't look as nice as the old one. They should have maybe went with a smaller battery, I appreciate them putting on burlier components. However they need to get the weight down

I just purchased a gasgas and Moro 5 close to 60 percent off for both... Crazy deals now. I basically got to awesome bikes both with super quiet and powerful Yamaha motors! I basically got two high end bikes for the price one.

and... I just confirmed on mine, although undocumented, it is Powermore 250 range extender battery compatible! Only potential issue is water bottle boss strength but a simple strap will alleviate the stress from the addition weight on the bosses.

I have the rift zone e2 140mm travel Ep801 Its a absolute rocket ship on the trails and when it gets steep it climbs like a goat and decends like one too . Irs so planted yiu can really go way to fast all the time. I was getting worlds best strava times on some trails last year when i was riding it every other day just aim and point it into a corner and it will get around every time. Few issues but for the price well worth the money

Test drove this thing today and I'm super impressed. Currently own the velotric discover 1. This santa Monica was so comfy, the motor is nearly silent! Great handling. I'm keeping my eye out for this company.

I’ve been bunny hopping on my ecotric fat tire bike but I wouldn’t recommend it on a dirt/fine gravel path lol. I learned the hard way yesterday and my road rash is hurting so bad today. I hit my new brakes after and slid off the bike. Ouch.

When was the last time before this you rode an enduro bike with meaty tires and cushcore front a rear? I wonder how much that was the reason for the planted feeling and speed through rough? Be interesting to experiment with lighter trail tyres

A little late on the commenting here. I absolutely love the Marin E2 look of the old bike with the Shimano motor. This thing is giving Rocky Mountain a run for ugliest emountain bike ever built, a total backwards move from them. I heard sales are so bad they scrapped it already.

Did that motor survive being completely submerged a few times? I would think that would fry many competitor's motors or require some sort of special servicing. Would love to know long term results of that. Can't believe these are only $2,500 now! I tried to get an 07 but too late..all sold out. Picked up the 05...lesser components but basically the same bike so should still be fun.

The previous model has electric board corrosion/rust issues. The motor might work for a while after water ingress, but only time will tell if the electric board will short out. But this is an issue with all brands, I'll keep it dry if possible.

I am use to a slaker head tube angle from Santa Cruz, has Yamaha stated anything about going to a 44mm fork offset or can you mullet it? Throw a 29er on the front to slacken the front? No issues while riding? Welds look solid?
