Thank you very much for your informative videos. Your instructions are so clear and detailed but nothwithstand this I had to thread more than once the heddles to get the right sequence but at last I did it and I am so happy with the result.

@@hens-n-chicksfiberarts i love it! Thanks so much. So could a regular twill be woven with this threading as well? So sorry to bombard you with question I’m sort of new!! I plan to play with the treadling patterns tomorrow! You should totally upload more if you are still weaving I love your videos so much!!

You might be able to. I would just play that's how I found the zig zag. My son keeps me quite busy these days but hopefully some day I can.

I really enjoy your videos. I did the diamond twill pattern a few days ago, enjoyed that one as well. I've only been weaving a short time but find it very rewarding. Looking forward to working on this today.

These videos are great, and I was so eager to try this! I'm . . . not sure what I did wrong -- possibly a lot of things! -- but I did not manage to make beautiful diamonds like this. I'll try again! I noticed that you didn't appear to need to catch the last thread on either side, but I needed to grab it frequently. So perhaps I just really messed up threading.

Have I missed something, I have warped from left to right across diagram, now when I come to the threading the heddles, again I am following instructions to thread from left to right, but of course they're back to front. Have I done something wrong, because I thought I'd followed the directions correctly can anyone help?
@lisabenson5428
@lisabenson5428 9 ай бұрын
The pattern is backwards or upside down. Very confusing. I’m trying to redraw the pattern to do it the proper way of threading right to left (warp) then threading heddles right to left. 🤯

The threads that only go through slots and don't go through holes won't be lifted, so they won't be part of the weave. Those threads would just be loose . There are some that don't go through holes. Can someone explain how the threads that go through only the slots will be lifted to be part of the weave?
@vickif194
@vickif194 Жыл бұрын
It is my understanding the explanation is these threads will create the third shed which is accomplished by having both heddles in the down position. I recently worked a two heddle diamond pattern and it works, have fun!

Hi, i am new to weaving and was trying to find twill weave warping (which i couldn't on KZbin) when I found this series of yours and I'm so grateful for it. You have put everything so simply that even a beginner like me can understand it all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hope to see more such series for rigid heddle loom.

For the confused, lemme save you the time of combing through comments. The repeat starts at the group of four. 2222(44222). 6:48 I spend most of the day staring at my heddle wondering why things weren't making sense. I added the group of two before the group of 4 in my repeat. >.<

Thank you soooo much for the series of videos. I can’t wait to try it out. I really want to understand the relationship behind the threading and heddle/pick up stick placements to create patterns. In other words, how one translates a pattern into the threading, heddle sequences. I’m sure that will come with time and practice.

Really silly question, but if I know what size yarn for my loom with 1 heddle, do I use a finer yarn with 2 heddles like this? As if the epi were twice as much?

Thanks so much for this series. I am a not-yet weaver and I was reluctant to buy a rigid heddle loom because I thought you couldn’t do a twill weave. You’ve revealed that with two heddles you can do a very complex weave. All it takes is a lot of concentration and patience. Have you thought about writing the heddle sequence on the forward heddle?

This is such an informative series of videos. Thank you very much. It would be great to see how you decide which slots and holes the warp threads need to go through in your diagram. May I request you to make a video on that please. TIA.
