Its a back lip, first, look at his movement, if you've ever done a back lip you know his back foot goes over the rail at the end like it does when you do a back lip, not a front board. Second, hes on the opposite side of the rail... Setup for switch back lip. If you saw the photo, you wouldn't think "front board". Skateboarders are so funny about naming things, don't even get them started on nose grind vs over crook. 🤣

Cab is obviously the most technicallly correct. He approached the rail frontside making it a fs boardslide and there is no argument against this. If he landed in 5050 some people would be calling it backside 😂

I know this is not the way it is but I always thought it should be about the truck you used to pop the board. Hear me out - the reason a normal lip-slide is harder than a board-slide is you have to get the truck you used to pop over the rail. Whereas a regular board-slide you just have to get the truck that is being lifted up first over the rail (much easier). So this would be a nollie 270 front lip. For frontside vs backside though, you could argue that it should be which side of your body is facing the rail for the last 90 degrees instead of which side your body was facing before the pop. So then it would be nollie 270 back lip. Anyway you slice it, freaking amazing, and holy crap would that be terrifying to try.

Grinds are all characterized by three components: stance (regular, switch, nollie, OR fakie); rotation direction (frontside or backside); and grind direction (frontside or backside). “Cab” is a fakie 360, so no nollie trick is “cab.” The trick in this video is a nollie backside 270 to frontside boardslide. I think yuto was right cuz it sounds stupid popping a nollie 360…. So you’re starting facing the rail… but then pop 180 and then some to hit the rail backside by the time you make it on. So you don’t say switch at all in that mouthful. It’s just pointless. It’s a nollie cab back lip.

Come on nollie cab together is not possible. Cab is only fakie and nollie is only forward. Plus cab is technically only backside but often when done frontside is called frontside cab, which seems fair to credit cab even though he himself has not claimed it. Carrol is also correct in calling the nollie frontside. Lipslide is when the back truck goes over. The question is do you count the back truck going over because it’s 270. The back truck lands in boardslide or same side of the rail so the slide is front board. I get the switch front board as many people would thinking this is how it’s going to feel, pop the 270 nollie and the land on rail and slide feeling is same as a switch back lip.

Cab said what needed to be said: it’s a nollie boardside with some degree of spin.

Why would it be a lip slide? His front truck goes over the rail first, just because there is a nollie 270 in the middle? Without the 270, it would still be a nollie front board. Right? The nollie 270 switch lip name over complicates the trick, he’s not popping nollie for the 270 and then switch pop for the slide. He’s in natural stance the whole trick, he popped nollie, rotated 270 degrees and landed on the slide. Since this was his natural stance, those are his front trucks that are on the other side of the rail from where he started, so it’s a boardslide. Nollie 270 front board is the most accurate name. And you don’t have to restate the direction of the spin in the name because a 270 the other way would actually make it a lipslide. Steve would never call it a cab, because he didn’t do them nollie. There is no such thing as a nollie cab. But I can understand why Yuto would think of it like a nollie cab when he’s doing them, lots of skaters do. But a “nollie cab” would really be a switch version of the cab, a cab is only done in fakie stance, and is never called a fakie cab.
