Great Video. Glad to know that the Head Voice is created in the vocal cords instead of the mask. Liked and Subscribed.

Yep. There is really no reality that is a mix. Mix is something you experience as a feeling, but not an actual physical setup or position.

I've been trying to find it for decades, asked speech therapists, singing teachers, searched the www.. And then I stumbled over your video and within the length of it, I felt it. Finally I know what to train, thank you so much!

Funnily enough, your instructions on how to use your hands to push your cheeks up to assist with lip trills gave me the "aha! moment" I needed in order to do lip trills without holding my face at all. I watched a different videos a couple weeks ago by Bohemian Vocal Studio where he said you need to use your face muscles to do what your fingers would do and "move your cheeks in sideways", this had been a complete game changer for me because any other lip trill videos I found would always say breath support was the reason you weren't able to do it. With his "move your cheeks in sideways" instructions I could somewhat do it but it wasn't a reliable strategy. Then i watched this video tonight and saw you pushing up from below the lips and tried using those muscles instead and it worked! So thank you for unintentionally helping me figure that out :)

It's the little things that can make all of the difference. Moving the cheeks sideways can add extra tension in most singers, and I try to avoid putting singers in that kind of position.

What did You change to sing higher without pushing? I didn't catch that.. sorry
@singwithpower
@singwithpower 5 жыл бұрын
Actually, the right exercise should bring the vocal together and lengthen them. As a result, the pitch goes higher. You DO NOT need to push. The note will go higher with control, not with push. Try my 15 minute vocal warmup to see if that helps a bit: MALE VOICE - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXfLnWWijsiKmck /// or FEMALE VOICE - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2a3Y3mvermMrJI

Thanks, Rick! I'll get you more soon. Some don't like me talking during the exercises, but for many, many people, they wouldn't grow vocally without having the very specific way of doing the exercises. Singing notes for the sake of singing notes will not improve your voice. Thanks for your comment!

As a transman on HRT, this has been really helping me get my range back after my voice deepened. I was scared my singing voice would be ruined forever but this is giving me hope that I can develop a good male singing voice.

If you ever could do a variation -to have one more alternative, that´ll be great. Nice greets from sunny Prague! Petra

Great great exercises frist time I do blowfish and soon I am light headed.
@singwithpower
@singwithpower 5 жыл бұрын
If you get light-headed on the blowfish, you are probably letting out too much air. Be sure that you have back-pressure against the cheeks to keep a tiny stream of compressed air releasing. That should also help free up the throat as well.

This is so true . I’m Always worried that my voice will sound weak and then I tend to push without realising and it gets messy on the ears
@singwithpower
@singwithpower 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's hard to judge our singing voices by sound because we obviously don't hear how we really sound when singing. Sometimes our best, most full singing sounds too light to ourselves.
