I have a Stevens .22 similar age and condition I got for $55, makes me wonder if it was a big part of someone's life and how I ended up with it for peanuts. It shoots great tho.

I have an old Stevens / Springfield model 15 single-shot .22 rifle made in the 1930s. I also have a Marlin model 101 microgroove single-shot .22 rifle. Both of them are very accurate fine shooting rifles. I couldn't begin to tell you how many squirrels I have taken with these two firearms. Those old single-shots were built to last.

Hello just a centrist. Thanks for the information. I never knew that Ranger was associated with Eatons. I do remember going, as a child, to Eatons in downtown Toronto at Christmas. To get to Toy Town, you passed Sporting Goods. There were (literally) barrels of surplus Enfield .303 rifles. Price? $15. Now, at Landsborough Auctions, they're going for over $500, with some over $1,000. I used to fire Enfields when I was in Army Cadets at Riverdale Collegiate in Toronto. We'd fire trainers (.22) at the indoor range. In spring, we'd go to the outdoor military range at Winona, near St. Catherines and fire "the real deal." .303. It was the one time I had the opportunity to fire a Bren. Beautiful firearm. Great memories.

My grandpa had a Remington Mod. 341 bolt action .22lr that he bought when he was 15, and he recently passed it down to me for my 18th birthday. Such a fun gun to shoot.

That right there is a canadian cooey ACE (the ace model was produced from 1929-1934). Cooey re-branded the ace as the eatonia for eatons as well as other models under different names for eatons, they re-branded their guns for other companies as well. cooey started the production of rifles in 1919

Just say you don't have it if the government bans it. If it's that old, no records will know you have it. Except for the video of course, but you could just immediately take it down.

I have an old Remington single shot .22 that my dad got when he was 18, in 1943! It’s before serial numbers, but there are code letters stamped on the barrel that tell the year it was made.

If you learn on a single shot, you will be more accurate with anything! I've got grandpa's old single shot, it's not as pretty as yours, pretty sure the stock was a mess up from the factory, as the barrel isn't centered, but is snug in the slot..

I have my granddad's old Stevens Favorite .22LR single shot. Back in the 1920's he won many trophies with it! Well, I have the trophies now and the rifle and they will go to my youngest son as a family heirloom.
