Bill C-21 amendment magazine rules don’t make ANY sense!

Just an average Canadian shooter/hunter scratching my head trying to understand how the proposed bill C-21 and the new Liberal party amendments make any sense to keep us safe?!!

This is not about safety its about government control and "Their" safety , and the magazine capacity of "Rim Fire" firearms is not restricted, unless they have gone and changed the law. This said , the rcmp banned 1 rim fire mag from. The ruger 1022, because it supposedly fit in a pistol. But yes this magazine amendment is absolutely insane!

Here is another one. Any bolt action rifle which uses detabhable AICS compatable magazines will be prohibited (I.e. Bergarra) because you can get larger magazines in that format. So even if you only have a five shot mag, your rifle "can accept magazines with a capacity of more than five rounds"

Which is preposterous because any firearm that can accept any detachable magazine can accept a larger magazine, even if that magazine doesn't even currently exist. I could, with effort, whip up a 30 rounder for OP's .270 and have it printed and working in pretty short order. Magazine design is difficult but it's not rocket science, the geometries involved are pretty well established. Box, spring, follower, feed lips, method of retention.

As an American it seems like Canada has a way way way smaller problem with gun violence, so I don’t see a need to change any gun laws there. Don’t let them interfere with your firearms laws that would make your lives harder. I do a lot of waterfowl hunting mostly inside the USA with a 12ga, we have a 3 shot limit for this, now I will say that with a limit of 2 Canadas Geese greater or lesser of the species, and on ducks that to me 3 shots is totally sufficient, while you do get offered the occasional double , the triple is a bit harder to come by especially with in a 5 man hunting blind. Deer hunting for the most part one shot is doable even with a slug gun. But in Canada you have longer shots you can take, we only have those in more rural areas like western states. All in all I could see a 10-15 round maximum. But I also think a special consideration for collectors and reenactment should allow historically accurate firearms to be owned. Also for people in shooting sport’s competition if they need it for an event then it should be allowed.imho.

The way I read the proposal the government is bringing in I take it that your 270 is banned as well because that rifle is designed to accept a magazine so therefore if you acquired example a 10 round mag that’s pinned that would classify it as a variant so therefore everything in this video will be banned over the stroke of a pen…. Unfortunately i have to say that those stupid laws are supported by the majority of the population (which is also stupid and doesnt know and understand anything about firearms). The majority of the population think they will be safer, there will be less deaths if those laws pass and guns are taken away. There is only one way to show them they are wrong - if gun owners make it so that the execution of laws like that costs the population much much more lives than any misuse of the firearms by lone crazy people or criminals ever could. This is the price gun owners all over the world need to pay to keep societies healthy. The time has come where you have to pay with your life or your freedom for the rest of your life and the lives of other people to safeguard human rights essential to the functioning of healthy society. It is unfortunate but the dumb and ignorant population brought it on themselves. And gun owners should not only take individual stands against the people who would come to physically take away their guns but they should also unite and stand for each other like the Minutemen, ready to come to aid and sacrifice their lives and the lives of other people when the ultimate call for help comes. This sounds horrible and might not even be a legal post to make but this remains the only option to preserve the natural way of life of humans that the dumbed down population left for gun owners.

Both those guns are legal. It's semi auto centerline that was designed for a magazine that holds more than 5. Which would mean 6. Which pretty much covers all semi Autos but maybe the remington hunting rifles

First of all your not paying attention to the wording . Any firearm "capable of accepting" a magazine that holds more then 5 rounds. That makes pretty much any firearm that uses a removable magazine prohibited. Pay attention cause they want your .270 Winchester. And dont forget most Winchester lever action tube fed rifles hold more the 5 rounds . If not all of them do im not sure but i do know mine holds 7.
