The Swallowtail catipillars are really neat, and I enjoy watching them in the garden. The purple Shiso is beautiful as an ornmental plant and might be fun to experiment with for smaller floral bouquets.

What are those circular supports surrounding the second greenstalk? Are they a greenstalk product, something you MacGyvered, or did you purchase them separately from another company? I have never seen those!
@Nikki-mx5my10 күн бұрын
They are available on the Greenstalk website.

Hope you’re having a great time visiting family in Brazil. I grew dahlias for the first time from seed this year. They are so beautiful! I wonder if the seeds turn into tubers in the soil. Do you happen to know?
@Nikki-mx5my10 күн бұрын
Hello, fellow first time Dahlia grower! I also grew dahlias from seed for the first time this year. I am hoping to harvest seeds and tubers to share with neighbors. I believe both Fruition Seeds and the Hudson Valley Seed Company have growing guides on how to harvest the tubers. I'll need to look into that soon. My understanding is that growing by seed may not yeild the same colors as the parent plants, but I am okay with that. For me, that is part of the fun. ❤ Good luck!

Your Thai green curry looks beautiful and delicious. I am Thai (American-born) and you make me smile because of your love for green curry! I think you've just helped me to decide what to make my husband for dinner tonight. I will add chicken and butternut squash from the garden to mine. Thanks, Mari! Keep those cooking videos coming from garden to table - love it!

In Canarias, we use the oregano almost only after flowering. And that's how we dry it. I'm so fascinated with Chris' wonderful oregano bush!

Do you use basmati or jasmine rice or wild rice or something else. I like the chewy and firm basmati rice after trying many brands. I just can’t remember the brand from an Asian market in a golden color bag that was my favorite of mine.

Thanks Mari! Thai is one of my go-to cuisines for cooking the garden produce. Drunken noodles, thai noodle soup...!!!!!! It all freezes well too so we eat many noodles dishes over the winter. Happy Gardening!

I have a ziplock bag in the freezer where I put all the parsley stems and almost whatever cut or discarded parts of herbs, onions, garlic, carrots, ... and once we make a big pot of stock. Do you ever use tomatoes or other veggies in it?
@MarisGardenandKitchenАй бұрын
I sometimes use tomatoes and sometimes kale stems, but brassicas can have a bit of a weird smell so I never add much of it. I tried peppers before and it was good too, but the flavor was very strong. Mushroom ends are amazing to add to stock and the corn stems after you cut the kernels
@joesatanaАй бұрын
@@MarisGardenandKitchen Yes mushrooms are wonderful for stock! Didn't know about the cor, I will try!
