Much thanks. For years, I have been researching and studying compression on and off. A lot of tutorials just give an oral explanation of how compression works but still i could not understand what would be wrong were I to just keep a fast attack always for everything. And in the last example, due to there being a fast attack, the vocals were ultimately too muffled...AND FINALLY, I understand why it is not good to always keep a fast attack on something. All my years of studying and in just one video, thanks to you, I finally understand compression a bit more. Much thanks.

I subbed thank you. I must admit, I'm a little bit lost with the gating reverb tip. Can you clarify that the gate is being triggered to switch off the reverb of the backing vox, from the lead vox? Doesn't this kind of defeat the object of the long decay on those vocals? Sorry if I got a bit mixed up. I understand all of the other concepts and examples just fine. I suppose my point is, that if we use the ducking technique to compress the reverb when the vocal takes place, and then we gate out the decay, do we hear enough reverb actually happening at all?

How do I fine tune and delay the doubles (by ticks) in pro tools. I have a show coming up and I need to grind til this deadline and I'm stuck, someone please help🙏
