This is the kind of video I've been looking for from a creator who truly understands the power of teaching by example. Making music is often listening to the same parts over and over again. But you demosntrate exactly why and how everything works together as it does, and what needs to be compensated for, reduced, or added, as you process tracks.
@SkyeLabMusicGroup3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the comment. It's difficult to know when you're doing it, how people will react. But it's nice to get a comment like this to know that this type of format works. I'm curious what you think of the other videos I have. Do you feel the same way about the teaching style?

Without any engineering magic, you simply showed how to make a huge improvement on vocals with such a small tweak. Still new to all this, but totally overlooked not lining up the vocals, not noticing some tracks could be slightly off. This video really just helped me in a big way. Thank you!

This is a great video. Technically he is giving nothing but great tips. This is a great video that I would have loved as a beginner producer. Newbies, if you’re reading this save this one and practice these tips, they are all going to pop up time and time again on every track. Personally I would have cleaned up a bit on the muddy ness of the low end, but those harmonies were sounding solid as hell

I'm using and very much still learning different DAWS than those featured here. I use Ableton Live 10 Suite w MAX 7, Reason 10 (Suite), Cubase 9 Pro, and several add- on's, plug-in's which are compatible with them, any one of which allows me to mix and edit much the same as this, since most "suite" versions of most DAWS have the same features more or less. While this video shows off Arty's familiarity with his DAW, and gives a taste of what one can do, when one knows their way around, it also give the viewer a tiny glimpse at the end of how editing can throw the finished audio way out of sync with the visuals in the finished product, unless THAT is processed similarly with video editing. Quite a lot of work. And a lot of fun to play with while learning it.
@SkyeLabMusicGroup4 жыл бұрын
Hey Cyan. The video's just a clip I took from a different song. We never did a video for that song. I think it's more interesting seeing the girls than watching the bar move on the editing window as I was playing the mix. So I guess I should have made it more obvious that it wasn't the same song at all., so there would be no confusion about it. But for any music video, it's the video editing that has to sync to the music, not the other way around. And that never would have gotten past me. :) Thanks for your comment.
@CyanBlackflower4 жыл бұрын
@@SkyeLabMusicGroup I'm sorry, I never meant to imply that YOU yourself did the audio/video sync, nor the order in which this may be done, only that it Must be done to present a smooth, natural looking final production, (We've all seen many "sloppy" jobs" if we've ever seen those old MTV videos from back in the 80's & 90's and so on...) and that this added dimension requires THAT much more attention and skills to make the interface work.
@SkyeLabMusicGroup4 жыл бұрын
Yep, no problem. My mistake was probably making it look too close. Or I should have put a disclaimer that it was from another video. I'm sure that if that's what you thought, others did as well, So I really appreciate the feedback. 👍
@tomloftus82754 жыл бұрын
great stuff, your videos have always been spot-on regarding pro content, but your presentation style is much more natural than before. And I often listen to A/B moments in technical videos and I think " I never hear a difference" but here you really cleaned some vocals up and made them pop. I learned stuff here,, cant ask for more,thanks.
@SkyeLabMusicGroup4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom, thanks. I guess I'm settling in maybe, but these videos are really hard I have to say! I take my hat off to the guys with 470 videos up there! Wow! Got a new one coming tomorrow. :)

Thanks Ruby. I appreciate the comment. (but it's not the final mix, and it's not mastered) But everyone hears things differently, so you can use these techniques and create exactly what you're hearing in your head :)
