Dear Vicky, Whatever you decide to do, we will support you. Your lessons are just amazing. I'm a 58 year old man living in Ireland. I've followed your lessons on KZbin from beginner Hangul, all the way to past and future tense. I went to Korea on holidays a few months ago and was able to have basic conversations with people I met there. I was able to figure out bus routes. All thanks to you! ❤ I really enjoy the way you teach. My favourite video was your apartment tour (when I learned that you eat the same brand of oatmeal as me!). Don't worry about numbers of followers. What matters is quality and happiness. You have given so much of your time to us. Sincere thank you.

I sometimes find myself downloading your KZbin videos to watch on a plane instead of the drama series 😅. Your channel is my go-to place for Korean language learning now. I was literally so amazed when I found your channel. I'm Hungarian, currently learning Korean in English. Thanks to your hard work and hours spent on making these videos I was finally able to make an improvement. There's not much Hungarian source for Korean learners, and I was afraid of how I'd manage to understand the explanation of Korean grammar in English, but you made it as easy as possible. I'm forever grateful for your effort and determination.❤

Miss Vicky, I patronize your lessons because out of all videos your Korean lessons are the perfect fit for those who have 8 to 6 day jobs. Its direct, concise and no-nonsense. Your knowledge of Mandarin also shows that you are familiar with other foreign languages. Other online teachers might appeal to casual learners but your lessons appeal to students who prefer a more traditional way of teaching. Any person who studied foreign languages in the past knows how important formal education is. The conversational/slang phrases will just naturally be learned over time. Please keep making videos! This coming from someone who studied Mandarin and Japanese formally, your lessons are easy to understand especially since Korean is a difficult language.

Also really only realised there was a website and signed up today so much material. This allows me to read the topic at my own pace 😊 Thank you for all your hard work. There is so many teachers now but everyone have their style and preference. From another perfectionist to another I can only say keep going not for my selfish reasons but because I know how hard it is to finish something. You have done so much and you could call it finished but only you know when that is. Your contribution in this area is not un-noticed and a book might be a way to epitomise that. Spend some time on branding and marketing so it’s really clear for people to find the original Miss Vicky. I love the Miss Vicky branding but did not associate it with explorekorean

I'm so glad to hear you will be continuing to teach Korean & in talks for possible book collaboration. 🤗 You are an excellent teacher (so detailed & thorough) & definitely one of my favorite Korean language teachers. I took too long of a break from my self studies (I was at a point of feeling very overwhelmed & frustrated) so I am just now returning. I feel more focused (still at beginner level) & looking at purchasing text & work books & considering subscription for membership for online courses ~ the only way I will make any progress & avoid frustration & giving up! 😊 Returning to learning, I just found out another favorite Korean language teaching site has made recent changes themselves. While they will still provide free content on their yt channel (more available to patreons), podcasts, etc., their online lessons on their website will now be available to paid membership subscribers only. I completely understand & support their decision. Only way to make it sustainable while maintaining quality. You work so hard and put so much into it, you should be able to do this as well. 😌

Something to keep in mind is that learning content is different from something like skits or reaction videos; people will tend to like the same entertainment for a long time, but in terms of learners they aren't as "sticky" as people that are just looking for something to watch. And what I mean is, how many people that start learning Korean KEEP learning Korean? Probably a very, very small percentage. What that might imply is that you have to keep feeding the algorithm, because you're constantly losing viewers compared to entertainment creators. And I say that to encourage you, not discourage you. Learning content is harder, so don't be frustrated if it feels like you can't keep momentum; that's just the nature of the segment, and not anything you're doing wrong. Thank you for your great content and helping to fill in all the answers that I can't figure out from practicing on duolingo (or more often, learning things I didn't even know I didn't know.) Also, the new mic sounds very professional; congrats on the new gear. :)

Hi Vicky, I just discovered your channel recently. It's a rather unusual story; I'm interested in Asian media, and sometimes I get geeky about weather & news events, so I actually spent quite some time last week monitoring Typhoon Khanun coverage on various Korean TV channels... and afterwards, KZbin had started recommending me videos on how to learn Korean 😂😂😂 yours including. I checked a few out of curiosity, and... decided to stay with you as I love your teaching style, and that these first videos were NOT really that tip-top perfect hahaha. Even this update, with a cat interlude... Lovely 😻 So really don't change anything... and if you do (or you did, as I'm a few years behind LOL)... have fun with it 😀 Best wishes from Poland 🙋👋

I'm late to comment on this since i'm a new subscriber but your way of teaching is both efficient and effective at the same time. I think what makes you feel upset is because you have expectations and also see yourself as a "Excellent" teacher which is true. Don't let a post or any instances dissapoint you to the point you'll doubt yourself ( this is kind of OA, but ykwim ). Maybe there's no one who tagged you on that certain post that you're talking about because they're busy or something. Try to look at the bright side of things. You do impact on the domain you're on. That's all that matters. Thank You Teacher! ( english is not my first language please bear with me )

If I used social media platforms, I would definitely have voted you BEST TEACHER! Many followers are quitting TTMIK because he's dropping his free levels and starting to charge outrageous prices to join! Billy Go is still good but has a lot of BTS young followers. His teaching videos are short and to the point. I find your videos that last an hour or longer are comparable to being in actual class. I have to do a lot of pausing to comprehend but I feel like I learn so much from your classes. Other people are concerned about too much "fluff & stuff" in their videos but your "hand & paper" videos are your best!! I hope to move to Korea and meet you in person someday! Thank you for all you do. I will be buying you some more coffee!

Waaaa :) Vicky-ssi, please continue to teach Korean in your own way. I wish I had found you a year ago when I began wanting to learn. You style is so natural and so friendly, that the viewer feels almost like they are chatting with a friend about a common interest, rather than sitting with a tutor learning an academic subject. In short, you make your followers comfortable and at ease. That's so precious, and it's the environment that is most conducive to learning well. You may criticize yourself for striving too much to find perfection - you don't see that you've done that already. Even your cat there has some flaws or odd things s/he does - doesn't that only make you love her/him more? Don't alter how you do things; 431k subscribers can't be wrong. :) Thank you for all your incredible lessons, your time, your planning and your thoughtfulness. 솔직하고 따뜻한 감사

Miss Vicky...please don't stop what you do with your channel, it helps me to understand and appreciate what you do to spread understanding. My mother was a spiritual adviser, I once asked her about Korean society. She said it was a society in decline. Since she knew more than me and was my elder, I respected her opinion. But, I have a different opinion. I consider yourbsiciett to be very , progressive and adaptable to natural, as well spiritual laws; which is why I have an abiding interest, and love for things Korean. Please forgive me if I am blunt. I'm convinced that Koreans ,like all good-loving people are awesome. Thank you for your channel! Love what you do!❤🙂

Thank you for all your hard work 선생님! I'm much more of a casual learner than an intense one, so I'm really taking it slow compared to how others might do, but I still find your resources very helpful and accessible, so thank you for that! I'm, like so many others, am so glad that you are continuing to teach Korean, and I'm excited to see what your new content -- integrating Korean language learning into your daily life -- will look like! Also good luck with the collaborations on the potential textbook!

Thank you, Ms. Vicky, for your hard work! 4 or 3 years ago, I never thought that I'd understand Korean until you came to my Explore page. You made everything easy and understandable, and now the moment has come. I'll go to Korea this 19 just to travel to workmates, and I'll put to good use everything that I have learned.

Hi! I'm so glad you made this video! I've come across your videos and website only recently and I must say that even though I've been exposed to Korean for the longest time, it was through you and your contents that I've made the effort to learn the language a bit systematically again! So in a way, I can relate to the bit when you said that we're making excuses for things we think are out of our league. I'm still relearning the basics with your video materials, and I can't wait to see what's in store for the things that you'll do. I hope to see you more often and support your endeavors!

I haven't started to follow your lessons yet. I'm a beginner, trying duolingo app on my free time, but i realized there are plenty of gramatical questions that are not explained there and i planned to start following lessons. The fact is i'm french, so i wanted to try french content before starting learning via english lessons but it's difficult to find one with the correct pronunciation. I'm grateful you're not stopping 😊 because it's seems important to me to listen from a native person

I relate so much! I never considered myself a perfectionist but I guess I have that tendency too. And with my new job I've been avoiding opportunities or taking too long to complete a task because I'm afraid to fail; I'm way out of my comfort zone. So just hearing you say that gives me some solace knowing that I'm not alone with this struggle. But I commend you for taking a step. That's what my manager told me. Just take the first step even if you don't know the whole route. Wishing you good luck and success!

Your comment reminds me of this quote from the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness (with y, not i 😊),” that goes like this : “Just take the first step. Just take the goddamn first step!” I could hear it in my head in Will Smith’s actual voice haha. Thank you for sharing this! I wish you all the best as well

If only I had come across that insta post. Without any doubt, you are my favorite Korean teacher Ms. Vicky. Not only that, you are one of the best Korean teachers out there. Never doubt yourself. If not for your teaching style, I would have given up on learning Korean a long time ago. I can’t possibly thank you enough for everything that you’ve done for us. 그래도 감사합니다 선생님. 너무 너무 감사합니다. Having said all that, know that I would support you in whatever you decide to do. You do what you think is best for you. My prayers and support would always be with you. ❤ P.S. Good luck with your book! P.P.S. I never had any issue with your audio quality to begin with but I must say, the mic setup looks really cool 😊
