Portuguese chap? I’ve always been fond on the mk2 Focus, maybe because of Top Gear, maybe because it was launched when I was young. It aged gracefully, which is always a plus, and the 2.5 of the ST or RS sounds beautiful

Yes, I am! Indeed, they are still excellent cars and I do think they might outlast many MK3's

You could just put a bluetooth speaker in your BMW or in any car and use that, right? In stead of the built-in speakers
@GentilsGarage
@GentilsGarage 19 сағат бұрын
Yes, but the built in speaker would be just a temporary solution. I will use a cassette bluetooth adapter once the radio is fixed.

I got error code D900, what does this one mean because it’s not on your list. And also my navigation system is suddenly not working anymore, it is stuck on the loading screen with the ford logo. Is this maybe why I got that code. Do you know how I can fix it?
@GentilsGarage

Sorry, can't help with that ás the list of codes I had was limited. Have you removed the unit and disconnected it? Might need a few minutes to be unplugged from power to reset

thanks for the video. in my opinion, the car has the most beautiful color that Renault offered on the Scénic III. Genuine Renault 17" Black Sari or Black Pragma rims would suit your car very well.

There are rubber bungs on each side that can be removed to drain the excess water.. This is a poor design from Ford...!!!
@GentilsGarage
@GentilsGarage 20 күн бұрын
Yes, they are mentioned in the video. But removing them won't stop the water getting in and the pads will still get soaked in water. Very poor design indeed and unfortunately not the only thing badly designed by Ford in this car

Hi there, thank you for this video. I have a Ford Fiesta Eco Boost from 2017 with full service history and 77,000 miles. I bought this car only two months ago and already the wet belt needs changing. The car is currently with the garage and not fit to drive and the bill from the garage is £1440 incl VAT. I haven't given the garage the go ahead with anything as I am speaking to the dealership who sold me the car and also the warranty company with regards to cover and I noticed your video when doing some research. Just wondering what you said about North America vs Europe... It says my car was registered in GB so does that mean I can't apply for the compensation scheme, please advice, I am based in England. Many thanks, Frida
@GentilsGarage
@GentilsGarage 20 күн бұрын
Hi there. The scheme I talked about applies to the UK only so please contact the dealer regarding the compensation scheme. It applies to the 1.0 ecoboost engine The US vs UK I talked about was only related to the different engines supplied in the two countries as the US have a separate ecoboost lawsuit that is separate for the UK scheme.

@@GentilsGarage Thanks a lot for your help and for making this video. I have spoken to Ford Customer Relationship Centre and they have confirmed that if I can get my car to their Ford Trust garage they will do a diagnostics and pay for it if it's concluded that it's a wet belt issue. I have been trying to get hold of my local Ford garage with no luck but once I do I hope they can help. Thanks again, Frida

Unless parking lights are VERY different over there than here in America, they definitely can drain your battery overnight, especially incandescent bulbs. It's not uncommon for parking lights to draw 5-6 amps since they light up all the tail lights, tag lights, front corners, and dash. LED parking lights can easily draw well under 1 amp for everything and are highly recommended if you use them for hours at a time.
@GentilsGarage
@GentilsGarage 22 күн бұрын
The parking lights (in Europe at least) only illuminate one side at the time, either the left or the right hand side. When these are on, the dash lights do not turn on so the overall power drain is low.
@averyalexander2303
@averyalexander2303 21 күн бұрын
@@GentilsGarage Very interesting! Here in America, the norm is for the parking lights to light up all the dash and exterior lights just like turning on the headlights does, but without the headlights. That really makes me wonder what the intent was here since they aren't legal or useful while driving, they can't be used as overnight parking lights without draining the battery, and we have hazard lights for emergency stopping.

I’ve had two 1.8 petrol Mk2s, loved them both. Great handling, nice to drive, cheap to run. Much prefer the 1.8 to the 1.6. I get 38mpg on my daily commute. Second one has just got to 120,000 miles and still going strong. Probably my favourite car of all the ones I’ve had. If only Ford would spend a little bit more on galvanizing their cars it would probably run for ever. Have to keep on top of the rust! Thanks for the video

Hey guys, do you have a link to that part? I'm using plastic grips, but it is not the same: since the plastic is too weak, the vibration and movement makes them loose the grip. Anyways, do you know any good (not too expensive) replacement for the shelf? Most of them are over 300 or 400 euros on Internet...
