Would you say that the machine is too loud to be used when doing real hardcore peddling in an apartment (neighboors getting disturbed by the sound)? It's the only thing I'm worried about.

100%. unless apartment has good sound dampening insulation, your neighbors will most likely hear the gust of wind blowing from the fan blade

congrats! It's been a while but I believe there are 1-2 credit courses that you can sign up for to be apart of a research team with either a PHD student or professor. I did not go this route, but think it would make for a beneficial learning experience.

Surprisingly there were lots of fresh grads in my cohort. There were some classmates who worked as teachers and for non profits

You said to not wait till December for the personal essay but it seems like the deadline is November for the Fall 2023 application. Was it during December?

It's been a while, but I believe the deadline for when I applied was Dec. Maybe it changed to November, but regardless if you plan to apply start your essays a month in advance minimum!!

Hey thanks for sharing your experience! I’ve been thinking about it even though I’m pretty successful already and am close to a senior level promotion. But i feel I’m lacking the theoretical and mentorship to get into leadership positions. Would you recommend the program for someone like me looking to boost myself into a Managerial position, rather than breaking in? Also, I thought it was silly they won’t consider remote learning during covid but they do zoom classes anyway lol. Seems kind of unreasonable…

Great question. Ive met some classmates in a sr ux or pm role in the program and always wonder why theyre in this program. Most responses include: 1. Build communication with people from multidisciplinary professions. (People in the program have a mix of non and technical backgrounds) 2. The projects are not realistic like at their job. No financial limitations, pressure, etc. in my experience pairing with classmates in sr roles for projects - they were like my mentor and gave some insight of how they operated at work. This was great for me being someone w/o work experience in a ux centered work setting. All in all, im not confident recommending the program in your scenario. There must be some trainings available that are shorter, cheaper & more focused on meeting your needs of building leadership skills/qualities.
