Great review! I am considering adding this to my set up, it would be paired with an Anthem MRX740 for home theater driving Blumenhofer minis as the fronts/2 channel stereo. How hot does it run compared to a full tube amp? Could it be placed in a cabinet (or does it run too hot)?

Hi and thanks for the review. The Nichicon Caps are not listed - their ref don't exist on the company website- The DuRoch Capacitors, there is no such brand in the market, no Swiss company. Do you have an explanation for this. Are all the parts fake ?

Effiecient speakers need less power .power does make a different .lowrhers can only handle 5 watts ,5 watts cant drive most speakers .so the right power is needed for what speakers you have .

Im sure this sounds amazing and I would have bought one if it had inputs for a second TT or arm and balanced inputs and outputs. A rumble filter would also been nice. Cant see why they left this out :(
@hagerman_amplification Жыл бұрын
All tube phonostages have an inherent rumble filter built in. My designs typically go down to 10Hz. It's a tradeoff between bottom end (bass) and infrasonic noise. Getting a decent turntable also helps a lot!

I had ordered WILLSENTON R300 Tube Amp and from the parts that PrimaLuna uses, is the Willsenton built at the same factory? Same paint job, parts (Resistors, Choke, Relays), Transformers are sourced in Japan. The sound from the Willsenton R300 Tube is Wonderful!!!!

Two completely different companies. Built to different budgets and objectives.
@joenovak6393 Жыл бұрын
@@SilverAudiophile What I am saying is parts "as stated above" and paint is the same. It's a Lexus and Toyota with cross over parts (not the Transformers) that are used in both factories. As a DiaLogue Premium HP owner, adding the WILLSENTON R300 into my rotation and the glories 300B sounding tube, something that PrimaLuna cannot hold to, it's a worthy addition to my listening pleasure.

@@SilverAudiophile A one trick pony that PrimaLuna cannot touch for that 300B magic. Even Kevin Deal would emit to this. I would say to explore and not to focus on the regurgitation of Marketing and let your ears be your guide, and we have not even touched on 45, 211/845 tubes.

Hi, I currently own a used PrimaLuna DiaLogue Two. I am thinking about upgrading. I learned that the EVO 100 is the 3rd generation of my unit. IDK for an extra $1,000. If it's worth it. The EVO 200, is $1,600. more than my used unit. I am confident that the EVO 200 will be a better overall performer than my current model. But I'm wondering if the new EVO 100 will provide an 'appreciable difference' in sound performance Both the new EVO 100 & 200 come with an amazing headphone amp which my current model doesn't have & that costs money. Any thoughts regarding the costs of these products vs their Performances? Thanks!

How do I integrate this with a home theater? Someone who has the same speakers B&W 703 that I do switched from Classe to this and said it's divine. I don't even have a Classe and clearly this will take my speakers to new levels. Can it handle movies and gaming? There's a Home Theater input and I guess I could use the pre-outs from my AVR for the LR and connect them. How does volume work between the 2?

Sonically, the ultra-linear sound is intended to be generally clean, bright, sharp, punchy sound while the triode sound is intended to be smooth, sweet, mellow, natural sound.

Can this run the b&w 804 D4 on its own, does it need two of these or not powerful enough?
@gregstevenson7401 Жыл бұрын
You really are going to have to listen for yourself but I suspect that you will need some more power for those bad boys. 804 Nominal impedence is 8 ohms but can drop as low as 3. Also the B&W recommended minimum is 50W so you’re kinda on the limit already. That’s not to say you can’t pre-out from the primaluna to some nice power amp or mono blocks and have your cake and eat it. If you can spend 14K on a pair of speakers then you can afford to do a little research and find a dealer who will give you better advice than me.
