I ordered the 24 old school frame this week. I'll be doing a Fiola Dayglo Pink and sending mine to Legend, Chip Bowers at C4. I need something I can roll around Chapel Hill with. I've got a 2017 Haro Master in yellow that is my living room queen :) Godspeed to your wife. If I was gonna do chrome, Chaby's is the man. Guy's work is incredible. He chromed my DK stem and it looks brand new.

So when did Skyway switch to plastic hubs for the Tuff ll wheels? ! ? Back in my day they had metal hubs and the Tuff wheel 1 had the plastic hubs 🤔🤯

For the seatpost- Plumber’s grit cloth, comes in strips. If you know how to dress a copper pipe for soldering properly, that technique can help you strip down the chrome in a perfect ‘line’ when you figure out your desired height, mark with a sharpie and dress the post 1 mm from the line, when done it should slide in JUST enough to cover up the scuffed area while inserted. ALWAYS use grease on the scuffed part to prevent seizing into the frame as well as any oxidization/rust from settling in or spreading. White lithium grease works fine

Fantastic you got the Frame and Fork chromed, I raced and was brought up with BMX in the late 70's and early 80's in Scotland. What you have there is what GT stood for back in the day, best wishes to Gary and Craig. They know how to make it work. Cheers QQ. (Subscribed)

Hi again, I have just been back on Craig and Gary's GT1972 website, can I ask why you chose the 26" over the 29" - I note the 29" has a 1" threaded fork only and the 26/24" has 1 1/8". I may be looking to build one of those next year, but as am in Scotland I cant really just see the bikes built up in the flesh (re: size for riding), hence my question. Cheers QQ.

@qtronicqilt8898 I had a 29” bike once and personally did not like how big they are. The 26” feels more like the BMX bikes of my youth. I actually would have gone with the 24”, but I don’t think that was an option at the time I ordered. Also, if you don’t see what you want on his site, email them. Craig and his wife are very responsive! Thanks for subscribing! I’ll be updating a few parts after Christmas!

@@apexbmx5852 Thank you for the reply, I get you on the 29" (on size) also I think the 24" would be too small. I hope you and the family are all good and I look forward to the updated parts after Christmas, take care, QQ.

Beautiful build!! I'm gonna see if they'll make my son a 18" GT frame for my 8yo son, he's a natural at bmx, i guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I'm 48, still ride bmx, & made a career of "riding kids bikes ", now i test prototype ebikes.

The chrome turned out beautiful 🤩 It’s a shame that the seat post didn’t work out. Hopefully you find a solution. I have that same railed seat on my 26” (but in white) and it’s indeed pretty comfortable. But dang, overall that’s one sweet build. Stoked for you!!!

I love me some blue but there is just something about a chrome GT that completes a GT bike. The chrome GT frames and forks were really done well back in the day and the guys who did this frame did just as well if not better. Love the blue and gold accents on the parts. I also like the gold nipples on the rims. Check out the Billet BMX round pedals in chrome. That thing would look absolutely sick on this bike! I like the taller bars myself, just cause I like to have my bars higher when I ride. The only thing Iʻm on the fence about is your seat. Overall though, this is such a nice build. Nice call on getting this chromed!
