I use a shorter recurve bow, and I'm really liking that quiver-carry. I always try to prepare to have my weapon in my hand and ready as quickly as possible, and that's pretty darned quick.
@AnachronisticArmory56913 күн бұрын
That's what I'm saying!!! Now it really depends on the dimensions of both bow and quiver. BUT when done correctly, I think it works great!!!

4:38 oh, it’s a seax dagger then, that makes sense. Here I thought it was upside down the whole time due to stylistic preference or something XD. not a very common blade type, and while it’s not my preference, I’m glad to see it getting some much needed love.

Cool! This was a good reminder to update my own kit- I'm still using my converted hoodie that Living Anachronism sort of "invented."
@AnachronisticArmory569Ай бұрын
Me too! For so long I was just DIYing my stuff and now that I have been able to update, it was given me better understanding to DIY better, if that makes sense. I was thinking about making a video on how to diy stuff similar to Living Anachronism.

personally i cant stand liripipe hoods :-) but hoods in general are awesome, we need more with the anachronistic ruana tho....which for a fantasy cloak, they look great

Tunic looks awesome ( the wool one), i used to wear just linen tinic in sumemr as it was so hot, wool tunic i normally only used at night...one thing i would change myself is to dye teh white tunic something not so bright, like the colour of the hood...
@AnachronisticArmory569Ай бұрын
I had a similar thought, I was also thinking about just tucking it into my braes for the time being!
@neoaliphantАй бұрын
@@AnachronisticArmory569 i would do, but its easy to dye, dont bother with natural dies, they just was out, but something so you can wear it on its own and it doesnt look liek a nigght shirt, nothing too bright despite what some renactors say ( they say saxon people liked colour because of colourfull manuscripts and wall decorations, and some people nowadays liek picasso and modern art, doesnt mean that everyone has/had that taste)
@AnachronisticArmory569Ай бұрын
@neoaliphant yeah and you can never go wrong with earthy tones
@lindawigington2746Ай бұрын
Thanks! Makes me realize how little thought I have given to how different clothing has been over the centuries. Would the hood typically be made out of light weight leather in order to shed water?
@neoaliphantАй бұрын
wool sheds water better, leather clothing is a hollywoodism...apart from footwear
@AnachronisticArmory569Ай бұрын
Agreed

Nice, the hose and braies suits you well! Hosen are in my opinion incredibly comfy, even with just regular, modern boxers underneath. I have a pair of brown ones from Burgschnieder that I really like. They're a little bit big, so I modified them a bit by folding in the top edge, sewing it shut and essentially making a horizontal sleeve to keep both legs strapped with a belt instead. I plan on making a permanent belt out of modern elastic string and attach it to the legs, so I can put on and remove both legs quickly and easy. It's fun watching you build your medieval garb piece by piece. Reminds me of when I got my first pieces of clothing..

Yes! I'm so excited about all of the new kit! And I cannot wait to have everything and test it out in the field! And yes I must say: Medieval new what they were doing they are both warm and comfortable, cool and breathable too!! It is quite fascinating!
