your way is elegant and effective. one slight drawback is it stops working once you have run out of arrows.

I made a leather sling for my longbow. It's one continuous 1/4 inch wide strap that attaches to the top horn with a little sheath/cover to protect the tip, and then loops around behind the small of my back and over to the front of my chest and pins onto itself. I added a piece of leather cord that goes from the top end behind my neck and down to the hip to keep it from sliding off the shoulder while running though. Super hard to explain but it's an extremely simple project, it's just one long strap with a tip protector, a little belt keeper with a snap, and an attached piece of cord on the top half.

excellent that you have quiver on back, when i did viking reenactment my arrows were 24", much shorter than otehr peopels arrows as i had a short bow, i found drawing from nack quiver easy, and i could run no problem at all, and my shooting rate was much higher than the longbows, especially people that had large cylinger belt quivers...they were bulky and you couldnt run with those....excellent video

Good review. Years ago, I had a bow like your orange one. Good bow. I carry my quiver Plains Indian style, with the quiver on front and arrows (fletching end) pointed to the right. There are plenty of ways to hang the bow from it. I use an asiatic style "horse" bow. I have yet to engage in a sword fight carrying a quiver on the front so that may be a problem.

My personal favorite is a variation of the nail catch, by using it on the back quiver itself at the top, instead of on a second separate strap/ belt. My quiver has a notch in the pvc so the bow is always at the same place, and doesn't twist around to mess with the fletching of my arrows. A hanging loop would also work for a place to hang the nail from. On with the rest of the video!

Compound bows are good bows. I have been shooting them for nearly all my life..... You want a powerful traditional bow, try the Mongolian .....

A Compound bow is honestly more of a sling shot than a bow

That's what all bows are, a form of slingshot..... Henceforth slinging arrows..... I watched your shooting style, at release you sling your bow forward........ No difference........

@@Lordinvdious I can see that. But the compound doesn't flex when pulled. And you don't often unstring a compound often. I can see the pros. But in my line of expertise, I just have too many cons

Ehhhh, yes it does. I have been shooting sense I was 15. I'm now in my 50's. I have shot everything from Darton to Mathews, and I can tell you those bows do have a flex and they aren't as static as you think. I don't disparage traditional bows or those who shot them. I love archery all around it doesn't matter if it is vertical or horizontal....... We need to support each other......

@@Lordinvdiousthat's a hinge retard. have you ever unstrung it in all those years? are you retarded? are you special needs? these are real questions. i hope you have the common sense to understand no part of your bow is flexing to contribute to thrust. i am seriously concerned for your retarded ass functioning as a human being in society.

Can't you combine the string/sling carries (both ways that you showed) with a back quiver if you use a longer string, so that it can go over the back quiver? Or does it still hinder you then?

Wearing your braced bow on your back is as nonsensical and historically inacturate as having a back quiver.

About as nonsensical as carrying the braced bow in your hand for hours which hunters and archers did both historically and in reenactment today. And as the back quiver comment; back quivers existed all through out history, in Europe, Asia, and the America's. Though a rarity on the battle field. That does not mean they didn't exist. There is an example on the Bayeux Tapestry for crying out loud! Not to mention that this video is made in a fantasy adventuring context. And simply using a bow messes with the beeswax. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though! It's more than most people do.

Not to mention the fact that there are recurve shaped quivers designed exclusively to put a braced bow in.
