Got 3 more years to go after that night little did we know .... amazing seasons. RIP Dad I love and miss you very much .....

I loved George. His death, coupled with the treatment of Joe Girardi, and the embracement of analytics and overall team softness has made me abandon my Yankee fandom.

You know people wanna blame Scott for this because they lost 4 straight and this was the closest one to winning but if you look at the other games I mean I blame Jim Kelly. His Super Bowl stats were terrible and frank reich was the one who got them there most of the time anyway. There’s no way I would have kicked a 47 yard field goal I would have went for a TD on a crazy trick play or something.

I watched this live, the David Cone Perfect Game with Yogi & Larsen in attendance. My wife & I had the distinct honor of meeting Yogi at his museum in 2000 to watch Game 4 of the Subway Series between the Mets & Yankees for a fundraiser on our anniversary. At the end of the game Yogi & Carmen greeted those who stayed for the whole game like we watched it at their home. My wife hugged Yogi & Carmen goodnight. She had the nerve to do it. Since she did, so did I. God bless Yogi and his bride. Thanks for posting!

A sports writer once proposed trading Williams & DiMaggio for each other. Williams, so he could take advantage of the short porch in right in Yankee Stadium. DiMaggio, so he could do the same with the Green Monster in Fenway. Things that make you go, hmmm.

Joe hit two ROCKETS to third base that were snagged and his 56 game hitting streak ended. He goes on to hit in 15 straight games. So he had a hit in 72 of 73 games. It’ll never be done again

You put Ted in YANKEE STADIUM, he hits 60+ homers EASY. You put Joe in FENWAY PARK, Joe hits 50+ homers and bats .400 in his career. I’m certain of it…

It's so ironic that Yankee fans my age and older sound off on Hal & Cashman for talking about how much they've won (despite no rings) the last 10 years and how George would never tolerate that. He literally says the exact same thing while defending the 80s Yankees here. 😂
