FOX hired almost everyone who produced and announced the CBS football broadcasts when they took over. The NFL on FOX had a very CBS-like look for the first few seasons.

and i liked how they just cut to the game right after their pregame talk. now its blah blah blah then to commercials then to the game.

I only wished DirecTV and the NFL Sunday Ticket were available at that time. Then I would be able to see and even VCR record any other game that Sunday afternoon.

The 49ers in the midst of their insane 18 game road winning streak. That's just freakin' nuts to think about.

Does anyone have this game to post? Like the Colts game from this year, it seems to be very rare.

Two teams were in total opposite directions it seems like the Jets really never recovered from that total monumental debacle in 1986. Remember they were 10-1, with the best record in the AFC and it look like it was gonna be a all New York Super Bowl but the Jets went into a late season tail spin by suffering a five-game losing streak to end the season and lost their grip on the AFC East instead being a Wild Card team. They would beat the Chiefs 35-15 in the AFC Wild Card playoffs then a week later in the AFC Divisional Playoffs they faced the top seeded Cleveland Browns at Municipal Stadium on the lake front in Cleveland. The Jets had a 20-10 lead and were on their way to advance to the AFC Championship but the Browns came back to tie it and the Browns would eventually win 23-20 in double overtime and the Jets would never recover, injuries and retirement to stars including Mark Gastineau and Joe Klecko was the demise of the Jets in the late 80's.

This game shouldn't have been close, if not for a Roger Craig fumble (recovered by Erik McMillian for a TD) it would have been 23-3 49ers. Jets were brutal in 89.

If Ken O brien had been able to move the offense i think it would have been a one score game
