Good luck to all those affected by Helene's fury. I live in Australia so a bit difficult to pop over and help out (would if I could). Sadly (or not) I don't use Lightroom at all, I only use Photoshop (since 1992). that's life.

I have the Canon 430ex ii (no transmitter) and am just beginning to navigate the flash world. One thing I noticed with my Canon speedlight is that it's very cumbersome to adjust the flash power. I've figured out that I can use a cord to take it off camera about a foot. And I can slave it to my camera's flash, and put it on a stand. And I got a little softbox that fits on the speedlight that helps when I have it in the hotshoe. Other than that, I'm lost. I want to get a transmitter, and I think that means getting a receiver, too, so I can move it around and not have to use my camera's flash. It seems Godox transmitters also work with Canon speedlights, but I haven't yet found a chart to know which one to get, which ones are compatible. Which are the best. I really like the Godox speedlight you showed here, and I'd like to get the AD200 Pro....
@willsimpsonphoto6 күн бұрын
@@L.Spencer I used that same flash for some time and found it a little more difficult as well. I switched to the godox system (v1c, xproC and ad200 pro) and find they work great. To use the flash off camera you need a transmitter (or cable like you said). The XproC should work if it says they’re compatible but I haven’t done that myself so can’t confirm that.

Not sure that’s the ideal but I occasionally have a slow down with LR open and edit in PS then doing some work in Tooaz AI3. I sure understand the frustration though!! Still the info is great. any suggestion for shiny brass and other metal products? I have a problem with with backgrounds, because the photos get oversaturated. Maybe i just have a terrible phone camera, but i take any advice you can give :-D
@willsimpsonphoto10 күн бұрын
phones tend to add more saturation as a default to make the images pop more. You should get a phone editor like Lightroom Mobile, you can take the photos into there and edit the saturation as needed.

Hi Will, I need a little help. I just switched to a Canon R5 from a Canon 5Dsr. I am using a Canon 16-35 EF L f4 lens on both bodies. When I go into Lightroom Classic to cull images on card after shooting on the R5, the images are smaller. When I click on an image to view focus I expect it to go to 1:1 and zoom in but instead it zooms out. I also notice that the magnifying glass has a minus symbol and not a plus. Is there any way to reverse this? I want 1:1 to zoom in not out. This does not happen with the 5Dsr images. I actually used the same card in both cameras with taking the same exact image and loaded them into Lightroom classic and the 5Dsr image starts normal and goes to 100% and the image looks great but the R5 image gets smaller when I click on it and looks quite bad. The magnifying glass on the 5Dsr image has a plus symbol in it, but the R5 image has a minus symbol in it. I have not changed one setting, only started to import images from the R5 now.
@willsimpsonphoto9 күн бұрын
try just using command + to zoom in. The last "zoom" you did is what is saved when you do the click. you can also push and hold command (this is on a mac) and drag a box over where you want to zoom. This is all taught in my Lightroom Course as well: exploringphotography.teachable.com/p/lightroom-master-of-editing
