So long our childhoods behind, roads we travel in dark of night, but to hear the song a guiding light, to hear upon these lofty notes, our childhoods return, but for the songs length. A boy of dreams tomorrow unsure.

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away) This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special (special) Once bitten and twice shy I keep my distance, but you still catch my eye Tell me, baby, do you recognize me? Well, it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me Happy Christmas I wrapped it up and sent it With a note saying: I love you, I meant it Now I know what a fool I've been But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away) This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special (special) Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special (special) Oh, oh, baby A crowded room, friends with tired eyes I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice My God, I thought you were someone to rely on Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on A face of a lover with a fire in his heart A man undercover, but you tore me apart Ooh, ooh, now I've found a real love You'll never fool me again Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away) This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special (special) Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears (oh) I'll give it to someone special (special) A face of a lover With a fire in his heart (I gave you my heart) A man undercover, but you tore him apart Maybe next year I'll give it to someone I'll give it to someone special (special) Someone

@@Mr.SamWise you may have missed my last communicate post where I mentioned I'm currently unable to work on any new covers due to a family health issue. The full version of 'A Good Heart' is still some way off completion and is not yet on the channel. For the foreseeable future, I will be making videos that don't take 100s of hours to make... The covers take too much time. I will return to making them at some point in future, but for now my family has to come first.

Esse timbre do riff principal, quero saber qual é

It's about 6 different sounds layered together. I started with the sounds of a steel drum and then blended it with a few instances of synth brass. If you look closely in this video where I show my Cubase project, you'll see about 6 lanes in yellow.... Those are the sounds making the lead synth riff.

@@juliancroot I'm still not sure I've done the right thing lol 🙈. I've went from a reliable, relatively modern car to an old VW that needs regular attention. Hence, I've not had much time to do music. But I'm getting back into it now and might get some songs finished soon.

Excellent remix, sounds more punchy - we watch KZbin in 5.1 and this immersed right back in the 80s! One question Julian, are there versions available anywhere else other than here? I’d love to have these versions on my phone to listen too offline without ‘ripping’ them off you tube and ripping off you in the process. No Sireeeee.

Nicely done as always, Julian. I'd like to hear you do other covers from Human's Lib. It's one of the first synth albums I bought on cassette back in the day. Bit of trivia: my partner used to go down to Howard Jones' house in Somerset to practice Buddhism!
@juliancroot

My sister had Human's Lib on cassette, and the only reason I know all the songs is because she used to play it a lot when we were kids. Its a nice album from a compositional point of view.. and very atmospheric. But I always thought the production was very bass light and lacked body.... even for the light weight production trends of its time it was quite thin! Great bit of trivia 😀. One of my contacts used to do some audio work for Hojo, and said he was a different from everyone else he worked with back in the 80s.... i.e. he was a nice bloke.
