she represents wanting to move on and forget but it’s not that easy and there’s always that past lingering.

raven was probably the first character that really resonated with me growing up. like, sure, obviously there had been characters in media i liked or empathized with, but i think raven was the first i truly Felt on a deeply personal level. season 4 hit me HARD. as a depressed young teen who had been dealing with abuse for the entirety of my life thus far, seeing this character in such a seemingly hopeless situation persevere despite the odds out of sheer will, to see her choose to keep going, and to see her find love and acceptance amongst friends despite her moody disposition, truly meant the world to me.

Raven's tragedy is her struggle with emotions, expressing who she is and dealing with control. Self control. Even if she and her father are not human, Trigon is a realistic representation of an abusive parent and control freak. This was before White Diamond and Shadowweaver appeared. And why this episode for me is why Raven is my favorite titan. This episode was her fall but this was a rebirth and rise against her heritage and Trigon. To be herself and who she is. And being a Titan. Being a hero. And being a human being.

Nah, Raven was always the weakest on a pure character standpoint. Complete monotone delivery, dull and nearly colorless design, doesn't seem to like anybody most of the time-- thoroughly the weakest link. Being overpowered and having a dark origin may be what makes most heroes in this sort of genre, but you need a PERSONALITY in order to actually be a CHARACTER.
@StormyTrix012 күн бұрын
She actually does have a personality, it's just more subtle. Characters here and in any creation are more expressive on a fundamental level and the most common seen. But like actual humans not everyone is emotive. Or at least, not all emotes are understandable. There's mor psychological and other fancy words that can explain this.

Yes a Show that disregarded established rules set by the previous show and portrayed mentally ill people as literal psychopaths is good. Peak media literacy 😂

The sad thing about this is Greg really was trying to be a good parent. he knew the problems with how he grew up and didn’t want to do that to Steven. The problem is he overreacted and ended up unintentionally being neglectful. He does try, he really does, but he just don’t know how to be the parent Steven needed and he especially doesn’t know how to be the parent he needed now. Instead he sent him to live with literal aliens who know jack shit about how to raise a human child and they basically ended up making him a child soldier. Yes, Steven would often beg for and defy the gems and Greg but they all needed set boundaries. Of course it’s not all Greg and the Gem’s faults, Steven is a special case being basically a Demi-god. But really Steven needed more structure in his life from an earlier age, have him attend school, meet more children his age.

the enchirdidion explained how bridges between dimensions might pop up from age to age randomly and naturally without the use of artifacts, a fairly consistent bridge is put in the pillow fort in Ooo into puhoy land and the bridge drifted away soon after. there is a good amount of evidence supporting that puhoy was real and while this explains it the ending is the most consistent with the reveal of Golb and the memory of puhoy deleting. Golb erased the puhoy universe, ONLY the puhoy universe and as such dying fin came barreling out of the abyss off of bolb before swiftly even the memory of puhoy was erased

i just wanted to say something about the Golb theory, i have just seen a clip of the enchiridion mention how different dimensions may have permanent wormholes to other dimensions or some dimensions may be linked temporarily at random and that might explain why finn actually physically running into golb makes any sense, he would have literally been in a worhole in the space between dimensions and it would make alot of sense for golb to hangout there as he travels between them

Gosh I love this dynamic! Maybe this is why I loved Danny phantom and Vlad Masters, I just enjoy the dynamics between an evil guy who wants an appearance! Also also Slade is very weird towards Robin, like uncomfortably weird.

The dialogue between Rose and Pearl in that moment in Rose’s Scabbard also goes hard. Gems only address their superiors as “my (whatever)”. They may say that a gem is theirs in third person, but when addressing that gem they just say the name. Rose saying “My Pearl” here is really important. Rose DID see Pearl as more important and better. Rose saw everyone in her life as better, and thought they’d be better without her. And its so fucking tragic.
