seems a pretty common thing to change life around in the 50's. I made a lot of poor decisions early in life and am trying to get my sh!t together now, at 61. Live my life without guilt and do the things that I need to do for me. 3 failed marriages, the guilt of being a crappy mother, and no financial direction made my last 10 years a sinking black hole even with a good paying job. Probably what draws me to the temptation of travel and discovery. I make some videos that my family will probably never see, but as legacy for my redemption, someday. I have detached myself from the people that used me to dump all their problems. I have a couple of friends that vent, but this was different. Like you said they vomited all their problems and never asked me what was going on in my life. And the funny part is that they felt slighted when I said no more....

Do they accept US insurance?

I noticed on Dave’s last video that your windows are all tinted now, can I ask what your thoughts on having that done are ? … was it expensive, is it worth it,.. etc . ( my brother bought a condo in Phuket and he’s thinking of doing it )…. Thanks !

Nice to see more people retired in Hua Hin. We have two places in mind either Hua Hin, or Chang Mai. It's hard to decide because we like both cities so much. Oh well, my husband has a few years left before retirement, so no rush for a moment though. lol

My thai sister had het breast cancer procedures at lerdsin hospital in Bangkok. It’s a thai hospital and the only place she can afford. I went to Bangkok hospital before and was very happy. Now i go to bumrungrad because they have direct billing which my insurance. Stroke survivor, organ transplant recipient. Gladi even found an insurance that covers all my problems. Bumrungrad is convenient because they’re not too far from the BTS

I will move there in the not so far future. I am 63 widow for 2 years. After my husband’s long illness I am ready for my next adventure.

Hello Kim, you must be saying to Dave. If Victor likes Thailand so much. Why doesn't he come and settle down in Thailand. Actually Kim, I will tell you the truth about me. My Grandfather and my Grandmother on my Mum's side, lived in Kenya for a long time. My Mum and her 2 brother's were born there. But when there was trouble over there. All the foreigners had to flee from there. My grand Pa and Grand Ma had Tea or Coffee plantations over there. So they lost everything. In a way I lost everything too, when my marriage collapsed. She syphoned everything. I did not get even a cent. But that is life. When I look at my 2 kids. I know they are suffering, but I am trying to do my best. Never mind God is great. He gave me $2.4 million, which with my share I paid off this loan with which she left me with. It is a bit of a struggle, but I will conquer it. Take care.

It has been the highest rainfall in 30 years. Here in Perth it is very hot, and it is only the start of Spring. I can just imagine what it is going to be in Summer.

Direct billing offers are more expensive but of course are more convenient. In any case, pre existing conditions were optional at a high price. Cover area usually was Asia or South East Asia only. Worldwide is very expensive and including USA is extra. So, I budget around 10000-12000 for my wife and I a year. Any comments from people already living in Thailand possibly above 60? BTW as all is voluntary private insurance any insurer can kick one out should they think one has too high costs.

Yes, these packages are inexpensive here compared to the States. The medical system is some of the best anywhere. But there is a huge disadvantage in the future, especially if they find something. And that disadvantage is when you apply for health insurance if you plan on staying here. Insurance companies here will not accept any preexisting condition. When applying for insurance, they will ask to see these test. And then evaluate all of the results as to whether or not to cover them.
