I hope you see this message. I have been struggling with mental prayer for almost 20 years now. And i still find it to be a chore to be done with. I realise it's beauty, it's importance for virtue, it's necessity to stay in grace and will of God. And yet it's a challenge for me to be faithful in mental prayer. I have always been drawn to Carmelite spirituality. I'm so happy i found this channel. But a living, talking person to guide you is still very important. Can we have anyone of you as a spiritual director?

As an older Catholic I am learning so much about an aspect our faith that doesn’t get addressed much, our interior life. Thank you so much for these videos.

I like this whole video is very helpful for me as I tend to be scrupulous. For seven years now the Lord has given me the grace to continue my prayer time exactly early in the morning, and I have been faithful to it also at night, I find myself a little more sleepy, but I do my exam. . One thing I feel I am called to as I find an extreme peace and joy on the 12 acres in Vermont that I live on is to go outside for a few minutes when the sun comes up and just look up and say thank you Father thank you dad actually or sometimes I call him pop it’s like calling up my dad and saying good morning Pop, have a good day I’ll talk to you later, This video put some things to rest for me because I do not have the freedom I’d like. I force the rosary at end of day and it’s grinding. I have read the interior, Castle and Saint Teresa of Avila‘s autobiography and the way to perfection. I also have read the story of a soul, and they are my friends now in heaven, and I called upon them often to pray for me along with Elizabeth of the Trinity and Saint Faustina. Love your advice and it will HELP ALOT going forward

Fr Daniel explained Prayer better than any I've heard. He elaborated in a way that made prayer easier to understand rather than making it more complicated. Thank you so much!!

Gal 5: 16 -18 So I say walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. v17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. v18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

So grateful for this. I am scared to start the contemplative prayer. I wanted to stick to my routine. I had to humble myself and say …do as You will with me. Thank you for the encouragement!

This is neither a solicitation nor an invitation, this Is the truth. I am and have been completely abstinent for almost eight years here in Philadelphia PA USA.05-22-2016 (later) to 06-13-2024-06-14-2024 (over 419 weeks)so far, unless you include leap years) through September 8 so far or whenever this stops. My eldest son (who is diagnosed with a disability) is still a virgin (to my absolute very best knowledge), and my youngest son is married and had a baby girl with his wife. 05-23-2016 (while I was running for Congress)-06-13-2024 to 06-14-2024, nor do we have STI's or STD's, no Cancer, no COVID-19, not LGBTQIA and do not have sex, nor have been sexually active in years, and no longer have a menstrual cycle. I was a virgin when I went to college, and was at home praying on September 11th as well as election days (normally). I am now 55 years old. I have not gotten my paycheck in almost 60 weeks. I am obviously not pregnant. God is still Awesome! My Mammogram was negative again. No Cancer no COVID-19. I passed all of my courses required for my MD in addition to becoming a member of the American Bar Association. I was a 17 year old virgin when I went to FAMU. I have had years in between where I didn't mess around at all, like when my sons and I lived in Georgia, and afterwards during my second 40 day fast, when my ex husband went away into the military, during my pregnancy, every day of 2012 and most of 2013, and more time than not in between.

Brothers this is good! I love the great insights and different perspectives. Especially Jesus asleep in the boat. For that deep of a sleep in a terrible storm ⛈️ In His humanity, He had to be exhausted. When the disciples woke Him up, He was irritated “Where is your faith?” When all hell breaks lose, hold on in trust. If it seems God is unconcerned and doesn’t care, be still and know that He remains upholding all things by the word of His power. Good insights dear friends!

I read some of John of the Cross and Theresa of Avila many years ago. Their writings are difficult to read. They don't get to the point. Their writings are sin laden. Their yokes aren't easy. Their burdens aren't light. I can see why contemporary contemplatives have uncomplicated methods of prayer.

When I pray the rosary I also watch cleaning videos or gardening videos on silent. It keeps me focused visually, calms my mind away from thinking, and I can focus on praying. Or I pray the rosary while driving. I’m concentrating my thoughts and focusing on the prayers. If I’m alone I sing the prayer out loud, especially the seven sorrows of Mary. I’m in the car and can cry and scream at the pain of Our Blessed Mother. The contemplation is truly heartbreaking. Thank you so much for this talk, it validates my commitment to prayer. When I get distracted, I just start over. ❤️🩹🥀
